Fisher Price-PITB Healthy Start Highchair
Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Fisher Price-PITB Healthy Start Highchair
I called Fisher Price today and put in a complaint regarding these chairs. My boys can use one finger and pop the trays off. It's actually become a pain to use these chairs. They started doing this around the 11-12mth mark.I've had some very messy meals using these chairs. The lady I was dealing with suggested that I put them in booster seats WHAT???? I wasn't calling for parenting info,I was calling for them to maybe make the product better. They have discontinued the product(Thank God)That will prevent people from going through this nonsense.I was offended by the way Fisher Price handled this situation.I will think twice now when I buy something from their line.
Good grief. She didn't sound particularly helpful. Maybe if you wrote a letter, it would go through different channels and reach someone who cared. Mattel Fisher-Price Contacts
Better than that, call and report the product to the consumer product safety corportation. Well I guess they did discontinue them...so that might not be the right thing. I would call back and ask if there has been a recall, because these high chairs are unsafe and you want to know how to file an official complaint. That ought to get you a response. The reality is, what you would like done, is for them to replace these with an appropriate high chair, you have triplet, you intend to use a high chair for another year, they should help cover that cost!
Thanks ladies I went to the site that Dawn make a link to and I got the consumer product safety corporation phone #.The lady filled out my report and said I should receive it within 2 weeks,to look over it and sign it and mail it back.I LOVED the highchair I had for Katie.I felt good about having a shower and leaving her in it while she watched a movie. With these healthy start chairs, there's no way I could ever do that with them.I've bought sooooo much Fisher Price stuff and I've been happy up until now.I just couldn't believe the customer service rep and then her supervisor.Without the trays, the chairs don't fit under my table I've just lost my patience with dealing with 3 toddlers being able to push the button with 1 finger and having the trays go flying.
