Bibs on toddlers

Ok, I'm not ready to pull the "bib plug" yet. Connor gets yogurt all over his Bjorn one and applesauce is a nightmare. Scott's mom slyly mentioned, "Connor's almost outgrown his bib!" She doesn't have to do his laundry.... when did you pull the bib?
Oh gosh, my kids still wore bibs while eating until they were 3 or 4. If it saves laundry and/or stains on clothes, why not?! Some kids are messier than others. My DD (8) could still use a bib at times. LOL!
It depends on what they're eating and how messy they are. With our oldest DS we probably stopped around 3. Our middle DS we stopped a little younger because it was a battle we weren't up to fighting. We made him wear bibs with really messy food that stained until he was 4. Our "baby" who is 21 months only wears them for messy food. He's a neat eater and like the other two he fights us with wearing a bib. But...if there is anything that can stain we put the bib on regardless. I think it's an individual thing- every kid is different. If he doesn't mind wearing one I'd keep putting one on him. It helps keep his clothes looking nicer and saves you time on laundry.
Natalie still wears a bib and will continue to for quite some time I imagine. She's a good eater but still a little person! I don't want the laundry and even worse the ruined clothes from stains. When she's eating anything with tomato sauce or chocolate, I still bust out the big guns (the big plastic bib with sleeves!) because of stains.
I can't even remember anymore. I hope I don't say stuff like that, when my kids have babies!
Mine wore one for a little bit when he was 1 but when he started daycare at age 2 they didn't use them at all and so I stopped at home too. I wasn't real religious about it anyway. He was never particularly messy. He did not come home from daycare messy or anything.
If he'll keep it on, don't take it off! Helen took her's off at about a year and a half and refuses to wear one, now. Frustrating when she's eating pasta or chocolate ... Ame
Ok, thanks you guys! You confirmed it for me...he loves his bib and hasn't refused it yet.
