Toddler hair issues

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Toddler hair issues

My dd is almost 2 and her hair is starting to get longer. I'm trying to let her bangs grow out, but she won't let me pull her hair back! As soon as I get it fixed, she rips it straight out. Does anyone know of any clips/bows that won't pull out easily?? It's driving me insane. Her bangs are past her eyes. It doesn't seem to bother her, but it looks bad, IMHO. Any ideas?

Seems to me if you put something in her hair that she can't pull out, she will wind up pulling her hair and hurting. Is it worth it?

Personal opinion, if she is so adamant and you don't like her hair growing down over her eyes, give up for the time being and cut the bangs. In another year she may understand well enough why she shouldn't pull the hair clip out, and you can try again.

TWO already?! Seems I just recently read her birth announcement. LOL!

I've BTDT with my DD. She HATED anything in her hair. It just wasn't worth the fight. The solution was a simple page boy hair cut with bangs. Currently 8.5, she is just starting to want it up in a pony tail or wear clips, etc..

I don't think I would fight it, either.

Yes, Trina. She will be 2 in May!! I don't know where the time goes.

I think I will just give in and cut them. I am going to take her today for her first hair cut anyways. Hopefully she'll sit still long enough!

As always, thanks for you input ladies!
