Sleep question...

DS, 13 months, naps twice a day--normally at 10am & 2pm. Then, he goes down for bed at 8pm. Sometimes earlier if he is acting too tired. He goes down fine, usually wakes up in the middle of the night, comes to bed with us with no issues, no bottles, no diaper changed. Then, he usually wakes around 7am. This morning, he woke up early and cried for DH. (He's also going through separation anxiety-especially for Dada!) He was just generally fussy. DH got up with him and gave him breakfast. He was crying and hanging on my leg every time I set him down. I was going insane! Finally at 8:30 I went and put him back to bed--he went to sleep right away. So, my question, when he wakes extra early, should I just put him back in his bed or should I just see how the morning plays out? The reason I ask, is now his schedule is messed up and he's going to be grumpy and tired long before 2pm, which means around dinner time he is going to be a nightmare! Any suggestions on a better schedule I can follow? BTW-Him coming to bed with us is not an issue for us. Thanks.
{{{HUGS}}} Both kids went through a transiton period with naps and sleeping at about that age. I remember B waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5 am. Argh! Sometimes I could put her back to bed to sleep for another hour or two and sometimes not. Some days they needed two naps and sometimes one long afternoon nap would do the trick. I just had to follow my mommy instincts and play it by ear, but they eventually dropped the two naps and settled into one nap from about 1-3 or 4. Well, Tyler did anyway. Things were never that easy with B. LOL!
Thanks, Trina. I guess I should have just emailed you. LOL
Eve, Cameron dropped his morning nap around this age. It took a week or two but he transitioned into a 12:30 nap time. Some mornings he would nap and some he wouldn't. I didn't want him sleeping through the lunch hour so one day I just kept him up until 12 and each day I stretched it out a bit until he was going down consistently at 12:30. Transistions are tough hang in there!
