Full Blown Tempertanturm in the Middle of the Night?

Matthew has been coming into our bed every night for the past few nights. He comes to DH's side and I don't usually hear him. However, he wakes me up usually by kicking me in the back or head at about 3 am. I asked DH not to let him in the bed but to start taking him back to his bed instead. So at 3 am he took him back to his bed and laid down with him until he was settled. Then at 5 am he returned and DH tried to take him back but he completely flipped. We tried everything, letting him stay but he said, "NO DADDY MATTHEW'S BED" so DH tried to take him back to his bed and he said "NO MATTHEW MUMMY'S BED". This went on and on everytime we tried to help or console but him he would melt down even more. It was weird, he was inconsolable. Finally I got up and said "Mummy is going to Matthew's bed. He flipped and said no but I went anyway and he got up into bed with me all hiccupy and upset but settled down and slept for another hour. Then everything was fine. What the @$%*!~ was that? Is this a night terror? Any ideas?
Natalie had night terrors for a week about a year ago and it doesn't sound like that's what it was. I think he was just ticked that he couldn't stay in bed with you guys since he'd been doing it for a few nights.
Sounds more like sleep walking to me.
It wasn't a regular TT, I don't really think he was ticked. He didn't seem to be all there. It's very unusual that he finally settled with me as he is a major Daddy's boy and will not usually settle with me if DH is around. Strange. Maybe it was sleep walking. We'll see how it goes tonight. Not sure how much longer we can do this though. DH and I are like walking zombies these days. Thanks for the feedback.
BTDT! Jade has started getting up at night again and man it is awful trying to get her to go back to sleep. I am in zombie world today too. We finally Sunday afternoon put a lock on her door because we don't always hear her when she gets up at night until she comes into our room and that scares me. She can unlock the front door and go outside and we would never know. Good luck to you.
Yup Tonya, that's the plan for tonight, he'll be locked in. We have a gate on his door but have been leaving it open as he can now climb over it so it was more dangerous closed than open. DH bought some door handle covers and we'll put one on tonight although he can get them off faster than I can, I'll have to find the duct tape.
