Where do they get this stuff from?

We have a plush toy that is a flower, the past few days Matthew will bring me the flower and say "Here you go Mudder, here's a flower, aaaawwww." Then he says "Love you Mummy" and walks away. It's the sweetest thing, but I have no idea where he got the idea that he should bring me a flower and why on earth he calls me Mudder when he does, I'm usually Mummy and he does not do this with DH. I guess our children are influenced so easily and we don't even notice most of the time what they are picking up on.
Awwwwwwww... Cute!
HOW CUTE!!! What a little sweetheart you have there!
Awww, that's so sweet!
Oh my gosh! That is just the sweetest thing. Do you just feel like melting?
My daugher will use the terms mother and grandmother when she is pretending but when in reality it is grandma and mommy. My girls also started bringing me flowers at a young age and never really thought to give them to daddy even though he would have made just as big of a deal. it is funny how they come to the conclusions they do.
I told DH and he thinks he got it from watching Little Bear. I let Matthew watch Little Bear in the evenings because it's such a beautiful show and it seems to help him wind down from the day. Little Bear calls his Mother, Mother Bear and I guess last week according to DH who also watches, Little Bear brought his Mother flowers. Here I was worrying about Matthew watching television.
Oh, I miss Little Bear so much! My kids loved it when they were little, and so did I! We even had a talking Little Bear. My husband and I even still make jokes about it, talking like they did, and saying names like "No feet" (the snake) when it is appropriate (is that ever appropriate? LOL!).
I liked watching Little Bear, too, when mine were little.
