SIX teeth at once! My poor little dude!
Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: SIX teeth at once! My poor little dude!
Mason is getting 4 teeth on top and I just looked in again and this morning there are 2 more coming in on the bottom! My poor baby is not sleeping well and is not interested in food very much. I feel so bad for him! DD was very like this. Has anyone heard of rubbing a bit of Benadryl on the gums? Someone suggested it to me and I thought I would check here. Thanks.
Good luck I have no words of wisdom because I was lucky we didn't know either of our kids were cutting teeth unless they bit us. Never an issue from either one of them. So good luck hopefully Mason is better soon.
I rubbed tylenol right on their gums. Ultimatly rubbing benadryl will probably make them sleepy, so if you think that would help. My dd's first teeth were her molars, she cut all 4 on easter weekend (she was 15 months). She was horrid, but after that we never noticed teeth coming in. I would suggest freezing a washcloth and letting him chew on that, the cool will help numb his gums.
I rubbed a bit of children's benadryl on my kids gums per my pediatrician. I can't remember if it helped or not but it must have because I know I did it for all of them.
Emily got 2 teeth right away and then 6 teeth in quick succession after that. She was never too bothered by teething pain, though. I was lucky that way. The cold washcloth might be a good idea, though!
Wow, 6 teeth....Ouch! Give the little man lots of hugs, hope they come in fast!
Count your blessings. It's better that he cut them all at once than one at a time. DD cut 8 teeth in a little over a week. DS did it one at a time. That meant the fussiness lasted forever versus just a few days. I did the frozen washcloth, lots of Tylenol alternated with Motrin, lots of cold toys to chew on, and massaged the gums when they would let me. Never tired the benedryl but I'd try it.
