Desparate - teething advice

It took a long time for little dd's front teeth to come in, but her back teeth seem to be coming in all at once. I mean, top & bottom on both sides. She's miserable, for good reason. Anyway, this morning, when I looked at her gums, they were inflamed and red, even the front where the teeth have already come in. I am very particular with keeping her gums clean, so please don't think it's that. She has also been drooling A LOT and her breath kind of smells bad. She has also been running a mild fever which I've been giving her meds for that, and that does help. She will run around and seem fine for a while, and then she will get grumpy and want me to hold her for a while. The Dr. said to just keep giving her the medicine and Pediacare pops and if she is still that way on Monday, then to bring her in. Is there any advice for me or anything I can do to help this along? Do you think the Dr. is giving me good advice? TIA for any suggestions.
Hylands teething tablets or a liquid version called Camilia, you can find them at the health food stores. They work wonderfully.
Is it normal for bad breath and inflamed gums, even in the front? I will try those tablets.
Heaventree, i did buy the Hyland's tablets. They were at CVS Pharmacy. She is sleeping right now, but I am still worried about the b/breath & inflammation. Right now, as long as she's sleeping, I'm glad. She needs the rest.
Sandy, I hope the tablets work for you, I'm not sure about the inflammation or the bad breath although Matthew from time to time will have bad breath also, I'm not sure if it's related to teething or not. If her gums are still inflammed on Monday, maybe you should check with the doctor. I would continue with the tablets until you can get into see the doctor if you think they are helping. Glad she's sleeping.
I think I would take her in on Monday. She might have an infection going on. I'm glad she is resting now.
I hope it's not an infection. She's up now. Her nap only lasted about a half hour. Either way, the Dr. will be seeing her on Mon. Thanks ladies.
H, can Infant's Tylenol be given along with those teething tablets?
Yeah, Tylenol is fine with the tablets, at least in my experience anyway.
As long as she's over 6 months, you can try some ibuprofin. That will reduct the swelling. Bad breath could be a sign of a sinus infection or reflux, so I'm glad you're having her checked out. Helen's molars all came in at the same time. The doc actually wrote "molar madness" on her chart. He told me she could go on like this for weeks. Good luck. This time is no fun. Ame
She slept very well last night. I gave her the teething tablets and Motrin. She's not as grumpy this morning but her gums are still red and puffy. Thank you all for your advice.
I'm glad she slept better.
I did take little dd to the Dr. on Monday and she said it was just really bad teething. I've kept her on meds and she is doing so much better. Also, Pediapops really helped. Thanks for all your advice.
Poor little gal. Hope she is feeling better soon.
