Help...Can my baby be teething???
Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Help...Can my baby be teething???
My baby is only going to be 3 months old on Thursday and he is knawing on his hands non-stop, and he seems alittle irritable. I put my finger in his mouth and ran it across his gums, and my goodness I think there is a tooth trying to come though. Is this possible or is he too young??
This is entirely possible. Most kids start a little later, but there have been babies born with a tooth or two already, and it's not uncommon to have early teethers. I do know that late teethers sometimes have problems with their adult teeth, I don't know if the same holds true for early teethers, but it's something to keep in mind for later on. In the meantime, frozen waffles are great for teething pain, or freezing a damp washcloth. Hope the little guy is feeling better soon!!
Oh, and I *think* my kids started teething at about 4 months, I'd have to check, but I know it was around then.
Sarah got her first tooth, right around 5 months.
Ditto Crystal-My DD got her 1st botton teeth together at 5mths.My boys were a bit later and started on the fingers around 4mths and got there 1st teeth at 6mths .She also started knawing on her fingers at 3mths.I gave them lots of teething toys and frozen bagels to chew on.
Oh Yeah-Definately the frozen washcloth
Zoe got her first tooth in at 4 months!
Thank you ladies. I thought it was a little early but I guess not.
