I just bought Sesame Street Platinum-All-Time Favorites. They LOVE it.We listen to music everyday and this has got to be one of the best.Lots of wiggling bums going on around here.
We got that cd a few months ago, it is really great!
I also highly recommend most anything by Dr. Jean, and I also really like the Fisher-Price Little People CD's. (A few Dr. Jean cd's are older elementary age, but generally they are all wonderful.) I used them in K for years and now Natalie loves them, too.
Thx Deanna-I'll have to check them out.Do you know if the Little People VCR tapes are any good?I havent let the boys watch TV yet.I have 3 of them that they rec'd from there baby shower. Can you buy the CD's at Wal-mart?
We really love the Little People movies and cd's. My 8yo has even been caught singing their songs under her breath while doing her homework. The LP movies are sweet, silly and always have a little moral at the end of the story. We'll have to pick up the Sesame Street cd. I want to encourage my kids to listen to kid music for as long as possible.
Sherri-yep! They have them at Walmart. I haven't seen the videos. Natalie watches Playhouse Disney and an occasional Barney video.
These are also great. Songs from all over the world and they don't grate on your nerves like some songs (Barney) do. Any of the Putumayo discs are good. http://www.putumayo.com/playground.html http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008XESC/sr=8-3/qid=1145019422/ref=pd_bbs_3/102-4196143-9581722?%5Fencoding=UTF8
I bought the Curious George CD awile ago, it's probably more for older children, but actually I really like it.
Thanx Ladies-You've been a great help.My Dk's also has the 4CD pk of Sing A Long Songs-They all have songs that teach lessons 911/strangers/manners/ and alot of cute silly songs and some familiar nursery rhymes.Once the words are stuck in there heads, they seem to understand the message better.I ordered them off of the TV when DD was a toddler
I love all Raffi music, as well as Sharon, Lois and Bram. Ann Murray also has a good one - Hippo in the Bathtub. None of the ones I listed are even close to being new, but they're great!
There is a guy named Jack Hartman that does great children's music. He is local in my area, but has several albums available at most educational stores. Most of the K teachers here use him in their daily cirriculum. My daughter LOVES his songs. They are a lot of fun, good beat and fun ways to learn. I'm sure he has a website. I enjoy listening to them too.
My favorite childrens band is a local group called the Banana Slugs. They sing about the environment and even adults don't mind listening to them. http://www.bananaslugstringband.com/
Oh, we love the Banana Slugs. They are a fun group for the kids to listen to and the songs are pretty catchy.
My kids loved Elmopalooza. They actually still listen to it on occasion and my oldest is almost 11...
Helen and Randy love "They Might Be Giants: Here Come the ABCs". They run around singing the songs form it. Maybe that's why at 15 months she could say her whole alphabet? The music is really good, too. Ame
Ame- Natalie also loves They Might Be Giants:Here Comes the ABC's! I need to get it from the library and burn it to disc.
