Toddler Mom Question

Do you carry an extra set of clothes in your diaper bag?

I haven't since Natalie was an infant, but she threw up all over the place in the grocery today, and then again in the car, and we had nothing. It made me think!!

We can't get rid of the sickness around here! DH has a stomach bug and can't stop poopin', Natalie just started being able to poop, and now they're both throwing up. Help!! I'm being overrun by bodily fluids!! I'm just waiting for the dogs to start in. :)

Deanna, my kids are 8, 6, and 4yo and I still have an extra outfit for each of them packed in the car. It's been a lifesaver a couple of times, when someone has been jumped on by a muddy dog or when a cup of juice has been spilled all over a clean shirt. I also keep a thing of antibacterial wipes from Bath and Body Works, a plastic grocery bag and a bottle of water for clean-up. You just never know what will come up (sometimes, literally:)).

I really, REALLY hope your home is free and clear of those nasty germs soon.

We have a spare set in the van for both kids & an extra shirt for dh & I.
I hope everyone starts feeling better!

Gosh, I don't! I have to pack 2 twelve ounce juice cups and 3 sets of snacks though!!! He's my little snacker! I swear he goes through about 6 juice cups a day! I have to dilute it SO much! I'm talking 1/10th juice. I think it's because we stopped the pacifier.
Anyway...I don't really think about that since I have to pack so much other junk.
Good idea! Hope y'all feel better!!!! :)

I guess I should!! I keep a couple of plastic grocery bags in the car (which were a lifesaver today), antibac wipes, a few small toys, a $1 store sheet for park days with the dogs, and some burp rags. I think I will stick an outfit in the car just for emergencies. It would REALLY have been nice to have an extra one today.

PS: I think something just didn't settle right with Nat's tummy this morning. She's in a great mood and ate some ckn. noodle soup for lunch and has been fine. Maybe she doesn't have "the bug" after all! (fingers crossed)

My boys are 5-1/2 and 8 and I have a bag in the car that has a change of clothes for each, plastic bags and wipes. You never know when you might need it. With my youngest having reflux, he has thrown up a few times and I have been thankful for the change of clothes.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

I packed a change of clothes for my kids until they were maybe 7 years old. LOL

I usually don't, since my kids are big, but 2 years ago, Emily got sick in the car, and had to just live in her clothes until we got home. We were in Milwaukee when it happened and didn't really notice that Emily was feeling ill before that. Ugh. I think we went to a walmart to find her some clothes, but she ended up not changing. She was 11 at the time.

I defiantely feel for you..Mine has been sick with all sorts of things for over a month now and I am so darn tired. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. ^_^ My son currently has a really bad respiritory infection and pink eye. He's not eating much and only drinks about 20 oz of fluid a day...I keep thinking to myself, whats next.

Dd is 5 and yes. You just never know what will happen. Get sick, tinkle a little b/c she was so engrossed what she was doing and forgot to go until the last second and didn't make it, or fall into the fish pond at my friend's house (it was only deep enough to soak her) or get a drink spilled all over.
Dd can NOT stand to be wet in any fashion.

When we stopped needing to carry a diaper bag everywhere, I kept a change of clothing, wipes, plastic bags in the back of the van.

Now I keep an extra sweater/sweatshiort for the kids in case we go out to dinner, impromptu. Yes, we live in FL but restaurants always have their ac on too high for us! LOL

I also keep a first aid kit, tampons, sunscreen, bug spray, hairbrush with hair-ties and hand wipes in the van these days! :)

By Kate on Thursday, March 30, 2006 - 11:12 pm:

No, I never carried around a change of clothes, even when they were babies. I never strayed far from home though.

I still make ds (3rd grade) take an extra pair of pants and socks in his backpack to school for when it is muddy outside in the spring and fall. The staff keeps a supply of plastic grocery bags on hand for kids to take home muddy clothes.

LOL Annie! Now that you mention it, I also keep a first aid kit and when the weather gets warm, I keep sunblock and mosquito spray, too! (Hair bands for my ponytails are always on the gear shift!:))
