This will be my first broken bone experience. Out of four kids! Kyle has his contagiosum, Kayla had fever for 11 days and Kristine has fractures her foot! And I am getting sick..... UUUGH. Just needed to vent.
Kim, I hear you! These last to weeks in our house have been a mixture of flu, dental appts and vet appts. How did Kristine break her foot? I hope you feel better soon! (btw we all had a headache with fever for about 48 hours then diarhea. 12 dd had the highest temp of 104 for about 12 hours off and on....what's going on with Kayla?) Annie
I'm so sorry. Recently, Emily had a sore throat and needed antibiotics, I had a sinus infection that required antibiotics. Now Sarah is coughing! Not sure if she needs to go in yet, or not.
Annie, she was turning to run to make the bus and rolled her foot. Its a hairline fracture. Lots of pain. I don't know what's up with Kayla, dr just kept an eye on her the whole time. Annie and Dawn, I hope everyone feels better soon! We are off to an orthopedic specialist today. Fun fun fun.
ouch that sounds painful! I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
She just got "DAS BOOT", LOLOL. Its fractured but they are not casting it, just put the huge boot on and no school for TWO WEEKS! GROAN! This is one of the hyper childern!
Kim, No school for two weeks?????? Why?
No school??? Holy COW!!! She's going to want to break it again when it heals! lol Or one of the younger ones will think, "Gee, good idea!" NOT! My nephew broke a bone in his foot and I do think he missed some school as well, come to think of it. I don't think it was two weeks, though. I hope she's getting around all right. Give her a hug from me! Kyle and Kayla, too. (and you, Girl!)
How come no school? I've seen plenty of kids with hurt legs, that went to school. The elementary school has a wheelchair, for kids with gimped up feet. Wow, 2 weeks? That's a long time to keep a kid occupied at home!
UGH Kim!!!!! I'm sorry to hear that. One at a time - I assume Kyle is better now with treatment for the contagiosum? Has Kayla's fever ended? And what a way for Kris to start back in her old school. I'm curious too, why two weeks off from school? Is it because she's supposed to keep it elevated? Wouldn't the school work around that? Jeff had an injury to his achilles in 6th grade and was on crutches, etc., and the school let him leave class earlier to get to his next class to avoid the rush in the halls and they put a chair next to his desk so he could keep it elevated. And I hope YOU don't really sick. That's the last thing you need right now. Hang in there Kimmie! I hope all of you start feeling better SOON! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Well, I asked how long on the severe pain and he said at least two weeks! She is on pain meds.....heavy pain meds.....I asked about her going to school and realized how stupid a question that was. He said school wasn't an option in his opinion and that the schools freak out about a tylenol...and she's pretty loopy on the pain meds! It wouldn't jive! The pain really is bad. LOL, Cat, she loves school and its killing her to have to stay home! Thanks all, and Karen, the crazy rash might be on his face, I am praying that's not what it is.....he has a self-esteem problem already. SO far so good on Kayla!
I didn't think about pain meds! If she is on narcotic pain meds, that would make a big difference! I broke my leg, when I was 15, but I really didn't have any pain with it. I was right back to school.
