How long do your toddlers sleep?
Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: How long do your toddlers sleep?
I put Matthew in his bed at 12:30 today, I think he fell asleep around 1 pm. It's almost 4 and he's still sleeping. How long do you let your toddlers sleep, or how late? Do you ever wake them up?
I never wake him up...ever. In fact, I had a workout session scheduled this morning and he slept in until 8:45. So, I just rescheduled it for 11am instead. And, he usually naps between 2-5 hours and goes to sleep on time every night (8pm). I figure he needs the sleep and he's SO grumpy if I wake him. JMHO.
My DS used to take 3-4 hr. naps in the afternoon and still slept for 10-12 hrs. straight all night. I didn't wake him up unless I absolutely had to. DD was a totally different story. LOL! She was not as good a sleeper.
I had great nappers but, if I let them sleep past 5pm, there was no way they would go back to sleep at 8 for the night. So I did wake them up if it was getting close to 5.
DD sleeps 2-3 hrs each day for naps, and I won't let her sleep past 3hrs. She's never grumpy when I wake her, and I'm just afraid she won't sleep at night if I don't wake her. She goes down between 1 and 1:30, and bedtime is at 8:00. She sleeps 10-11 hrs. at night generally. I do let her sleep as late as she wants in the morning. One day this week she slept until 9am, which isn't the norm for her.
Tay will usually take a 2-3 hour nap once a day and she sleeps about 12 hours every night.
Goodness gracious - I'm missing out - my 2.5yo ds sleeps 9.5-10hours each night and about 1.5hour nap each day. Only a 2 hour nap if he is under the weather. No wonder the days seem long sometimes. I've tried everything to get him to sleep longer - but this is who he is - and has been from the start. Perhaps as a teenager....?? LOL, Amy
