Children's TV Chowder

My little guy loves this show about this irritating kid named Chowder. Today Cartoon Network is actually having a Chowder Bowl. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about I found a Wikepedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chowder_(TV_series) Kids and adults love Chowder. Families on-line speak of watching it together and watching multiple episodes. I must admit the graphics and general arts creativity are amazing. It actually won #1 Original Show 2007. So............... Chowder can be very irritating. Like many popular kids shows my jury is still out on whether I want my little guy watching it. You might be like me and hate it the first few times you watch. Somehow his innocence and naivete grow on you. What do you think???? Do your kids watch this? Love this? How do you feel?
yes my 11yr old Ds watches this, although We don't watch Spongebob, when asked why I don't like it ... well I don't know, I can't get through an entire episode to pinpoint what bugs me ... but that's Spongebob ... Chowder's not so bad, personally I like Phineas & Ferb though !!!!
Phineas and Ferb -another little guy favorite in this house. By the way the same man brought us both Sponge Bob and Chowder. I like Phineas and Ferb because they are kids in the middle of creating and even though its usually trouble its still family based. I also like the sibling element. Sometimes I wish I could be as oblivious as the mother.
Personally, I like at the end of the day (or episode) the sister is irritated (as are all teenagers I know) but the boys do things out of love for the family, they don't hide whatever they are doing, and every once in awhile they even make the sister smile (ex. the mom's birthday episode where they had recorded the sister singing for them mom) It's just sweet. To me, it's kinda like the difference between the Roseanne show and Married with Children ... both annoying, but Roseanne did things out of love, ya know ?
Hi Harlena, Couldn't help but take a step back at the conversation we're having. My little guy is home sick today (virus - lymph glands swollen like golf balls) so Cartoon Network and Pokemon on Nintendo DS have been running most of the morning. I've complimented evolved pokemon and sung and danced to the Ben 10 Theme song. I love motherhood in all its crazy variations. I love their innocence also. My little guy is sincere that way also - not trying to be duplicitous - even when he's done something mischevious its for some good purpose. Enjoy the day. Linda
You're poor little guy .... how is he doing today ? We've been sick since November, some of us getting better, then some of us getting worse, I've about decided that we (cumulative as a family of 6) are not going to be "well" until the weather changes. I LOVE the cold weather (in FL, hot is HOT and HUMID) much better than the heat but this year it seems different. So many people I know are sick, have taken everything under the sun, meds that usually work but not working enough this year (meaning antibiotics, sterroids, nebulizer treatments, etc .... ) and rather than blame anything, just resign ourselves to 'not feeling well today'. I do get very upset with the school, my kiddos have been sick and in the hospital with no fever, but still the school nurse won't call a parent unless the child has a fever or is vomitting. Nothing I do or say seems to change this. When your child is sick, just let him go home, it's not a day care issue with us (I work from home, I can take care of the kids and work at the same time, well, mostly anyway!) I do realize I do need to be thankful that we even have a school nurse, because in our school system that's an option and the school has to pay for it out of their "special funds" ... I've gotten off track here, haha sorry, it happens all the time .... back to your munchkin, hope he's doing better ..... How about Secret Saturdays and Star Wars Clone Troopers cartoons ? My little guy is into all of the above, he watches Phineas and Ferb only if he has to, meaning his sister has Disney Channel on, and he's stuck .....
Sorry sounds like we're all in the sick room. I am the lover of Secret Saturdays and Star Wars The Clone Wars. The Saturdays have some very realistic parent kid interactions even as their being super heroes. Our whole family watches Star Wars something. This summer my little guy was introduced to the whole original series of movies. Since then we have read books, tracked the cartoons and even looked at the original science George Lucas used in his original movies behind the scenes. The Franklin Institute last year actually did a whole science exhibit on it. Have any trekkies in your house?
no trekkies here ... although us old people have seen all the movies ofcourse. However, all the various spin-offs on TV seem a bit much ..... I do think I'd like to see the new movie coming out though (James Kirk, the early years or something-or-other, although I'm sure that's not the name of it !) I did just see that some new StarWars Legos came out (two new $10 ones !) that is a BIGGIE !!!!!
We are big Legos fans. Would love to go to Lego Land (England). My little guy can't get enough of that kind of building. I am the closet Trekkie not my kids. They do love Star Wars. I think I mentioned that my little guy and my nephew watched all of them this summer on vacation. It was fun to watch them discover all the characters we knew as kids and young adults.
