What My So DID
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to boast a little about my oldest son, James. He's part of the puppet ministry at church & absolutely LOVES it! They have been preforming weekly for our children's church program since September. They also preform at special events like our church talent show & the Fall Festival. In December they going to be part of the entertainment for a local charity event. James wrote his first puppet script for the Fall Festival. Now ANYTHING that will get this kid to sit down & write, I'm ALL for! LOL During the last week there has been a break down of sorts in th puppet ministry. The puppet leader, who write all of the scripts & directs the kids, has been VERY busy with work & said that he would need to cut back puppets to once a month in children's church. Over the past few months the puppets have been the MAIN component of the program, so our Children's coordinator was left scrambling! Each week the puppets have been introducing the topic of the week (which corresponds to what the pastor is talking about that week) & then the kids are dismissed to their class for follow-up & games w/their teachers. Well, this week is the wrap up of a series, Live by Faith, Be Know by Love, & Be a Voice of Hope. It bothered James that they wouldn't at least be fininshing the series with the puppets. SO, he sat down Wednesday & Thursday w/his Bible reference book, searched for scripture to fit & wrote a script for "Be a Voice of Hope". I e-mailed it off to a few of the Puppet/Children's church leaders this morning & they're going to have their show after all on Sunday morning using his script! James is a VERY happy camper!!! I'm SOOOO proud of him for seeing a job that needed to be done & jumping in & doing it! Now if I could JUST get my middle one, Kirk, to see the same principle about his room! LOL
You should be a very proud mother!!! That is just wonderful that your son took the initiative like that. You are obviously doing an awesome job raising your kids! Keep up the good work!
^5 to James!
Congratulations to James! That was rather ambitious of him!
WOW! What initiative!! ^5 James!! And, at THAT age? HOLY COW!!! Let us know how it goes on Sunday!!
You have every right to boast - that's a lot of initiative for a young man to take!
That is such a wonderful story. How nice for him to step up and fill in where something was in so much need. Make sure you take your video cam to get it on tape. You just never know, this might be the first of many to come.
Kudos to James!!!!!
Well, It went VERY well on Sunday! He's even writing some new scripts for December! I'm happy to have him writing without being prodded!
You must be so proud of him! He sounds like a great young man.
Cool beans! I'd be proud, too! What a great young man you have there.
