Potty Training Update
Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Potty Training Update
So it's been right around a week since introducing it. A few days after my first post I got frustrated that Nathan had no interest in pooping on the potty and was going in his underwear. I gave up and put him back in his diaper. Surprisingly, he still tells me when he has to pee and won't go in his diaper. He doesn't even have night accidents and he has been good at holding it when we're out running errands. So I think it's safe to say he pretty much potty trained when it comes to pee. He just won't go poop. No interest in the potty for that. It's a step though. We're down to just one diaper a day and we have quite a few diapers left so i'm hoping by time those run out he'll be convinced that Santa really wants him to poop in the potty. LOL
That is great!
That's a step in the right direction. I'm sure the poop thing, will come eventually!
I told dd that Santa would be watching her and if she wanted him to bring him big girl things like barbies and babies for Christmas that she needed to do big girl things like go on the potty....... if she still did baby things like go in a diaper that he would think she was still a baby and bring her baby things like rattles. Now, that being said I KNEW she was ready to do it, just needed that push over the edge. I wouldn't say something like that unless you are SURE he can do it!
We're making more progress... he's told me the last two times that he has to poop on the potty. He's also only had one accident in the last 5 days! (And that was because I didn't get up quick enough to take him.) I know I sound like a dork but this is exciting. No more diapers! LOL I just hope he doesn't revert to his old ways when DH deploys in January. I originally planned on holding off until after DH left but he started showing signs and I didn't want to wait and miss my "window of opportunity".
