Gues what dd learned this morning
She learned to tie her shoes. This is huge. We went to McDonalds for breakfast to celebrate. Ds didn't learn to tie his shoes until he was almost 7 . Mostly my fault. It was always easier to buy the slip on shoes, then to fight with him to sit still long enough to teach him. She will be 4 in November and asked for help this morning. She got it on the first try.
AAwwww! Yeah!!!
That is awesome!!!! Congratulations to you and your DD!!!!
Wow! The first try? She is one talented little girl. Tieing shoes is so hard to teach (but apparently not for you, Kristie ) It took my dd till she was probably 5 1/2 to really get it. Now i have to start teaching my ds.
She has been able to cross her laces for a while now but today I showed her how to make the bunny ears and cross them and she did it. When I told her teacher she didn't seem so surprised. She said Dd is really good with her hands, its her ears that she struggles with. Now if we could just find a way for her to keep her listening ears on, lol! She was a late potty trainer and a late walker but an early talker. Go figure.
Congratulations to her! I tie an awful lot of shoes when I'm at school for lunch. I think some of them know how, but just don't want to do it, or don't think they can get them tight enough!
Thats great! Alissa was around 4 when she started tieing her own. It was such a big thing when she finally got it down pat! We also did the bunny ear thing when she was learning
Yeah! Way to go! Ame
YAY for your DD!
They are very loose but I'm still amazed that she can do it. She is so excited, she ties anything with 2 strings that she can find around the house.
I am trying to teach my six year old DS to tie his shoes any words of advice. The like the slip on ones was well, saves time but Walmst had tie shoses for only $10.00 each i had to jump on that deal.
That's so exciting! My DD is all of the sudden very interested in tying her shoes too! Although, she comes close, she has not gotten it down yet. I can also relate to tying anything with 2 strings in the house--I was wearing a shirt with 2 ties yesterday. She wouldn't leave me alone.LOL
