2nd day without the pacifier!!
He did *unusually* well without it yesterday. I stopped giving it to him and I don't think he really misses it. During those "high stress" moments like today during a library program where he wanted to walk, I just gave him some Tiger Power cereal and that seemed to calm him down. WOW. And, his naps are just fine too. He plays with his crib aquarium a bit more, but he snuggles up with his blankee and falls asleep just fine. I won't count my chickens before they hatch though...keeping fingers crossed!!! And, Pam, he IS talking and babbling more now. He even said "Apple" in his favorite phonics book!
Sounds like you're well on your way to being pacifier free! You're on the home stretch, doesn't even sound like he misses it. GOOD JOB!!!!
Yay! Goo dluck! We got rid of Christopher's when he was 3 months old, and it was the best thing we ever did. It got to the point that he couldn't sleep because it kept falling out, and he was too little to put it back in. We took it away and he went right to sleep. He just got more attached to his stuffed puppy
Wow. He's doing so well today!! It's the 3rd day, so I'm hoping for the best! Yesterday was hard...he only took one 1 1/2 nap. He's down for his morning nap right now, sans paci!! How exciting!
awesome it wasn't hard to take it away from either one of my boys either = )
Ok, I think I spoke too soon...he hasn't taken a nap ALL DAY long and has been having these "screaming" type spells. ugh...it's been a long day. I haven't been able to work at all today.
Great news...well, until your last post. Anyway, DON'T GIVE IN!!!! You're almost there! It will all be a distant memory in a couple of days.
Thanks, Pam! I'm hoping so...he's a good kid and I figured that we didn't have anywhere to go this week, other than errands, so I figured it was time. He was definitely more fussy today though, but he goes to bed at night fine and, once he's tired enough for a nap, he eventually goes down. Today was day 3 without it so I'm hoping we're on the home stretch.
You should be in the home stretch now. For dd, the 2nd day was by far the worst and it got better after that. After about 5 days, it wasn't even asked for anymore. Good luck!
