Christophers Appointment
I did it. I made an appointment for Christopher with Early Intervention. He goes Tuesday @ 11:30am. I have had to fight DH over this. He was dead set against him going. I think he was afraid of him being labeled. I made the appointment anyway and when they called to confirm this morning, he called me @ work and told me. He said that maybe we should take him and it couldn't hurt anything. So I hope that they can help him to start talking. His 2nd birthday is Sunday and I just don't understand why he wont talk. The lady I talked to said that I will have to take him to Jacksonville (about an hour away) for the first appt. and then after that they will come to my house for speech therapy. So please pray that everything is OK and they can get him talking. Thanks everyone for the little extra push that I needed to make this appt. I will let everyone know how it goes.
You did the right thing. Hopefully everything is just fine. But if not, the sooner you know, the better. Good luck. (((HUG)))
Best of luck to you! I am sure it will be a goo thing! Where are you in Fl- I am in Jacksonville!
I agree that you did the right thing. {{{HUGS}}} My DD was in speech therapy from age 3-6. It worked wonders for her!
Sounds like a good thing!
Hugs! You have soooo done the right thing! Ame
Thanks everyone!
John just started regular kindergarten so it is worth it. Get it over with. Definitely will not hurt him.
Please let us know how it turns out. You have done the right thing! (And he won't be labelled--promise)
My youngest went into speech therapy at your little guys age, Zach only could say mouw for the cat and mama. It IS worth it. Having the little people identified and treated early makes it that much easier for them to fix the error and allow them to enter school on the same foot as the rest of the kids without being singled out. Zach will be entering regular kindergarden next year. I know you must feel sad, I did and still do sometimes. However you are doing the best for this little guy and it does turn out in the end.
