I have a 10 pounder!!
I took Lauren, yet again, to the doctor for a weight check and she is a whopping 10 lbs now. That means she has gained 12 oz. in 6 days..Pretty good if you ask me. Well, the doctor still wasn't happy so I am taking her out of there. After the boob comment and now not being happy with her gaining 2 oz. a day. He is a loon. I am so happy!
Good for her! It sounds like she is on the right track! How old is she now?? I must have missed the boob comment??? If your not comfortable with the doctor it is always best to switch. It will mean a second opinion at the same time! Good luck with the new doctor!!
The new doctor will be my other girls doctor so I know I love him. i don't know why I didn't start out with him..ugh boob comment: He basically told me my boobs didn't look big enough to breastfeed...how rude, I am a D...how much bigger does he want. (sorry TMI) She is 3 months, she had a rough start not gaining but she is doing fine now and making up for it.
Geez, Candis, breast size has nothing to do with nursing! LOL Great to hear she's gaining weight!
Good lord, I know girls with tiny little boobs that breastfed their kids. It sounds like it is a good thing your switching! Best of luck!! My dd was 6 pounds 3 oz when she was born. I am sure she wasn't over 10 at 3 months!
You are right on Karen, boob size DOESN'T have anything to do with nursing. What a quack, glad you are going to a new doc. I would have laughed, not big enough at a D, sheesh. Happy to hear that she is putting on the pounds.
Sorry have to get on my soap box for just a sec. If we followed your old docs reasoning, every baby that's mom didnt have GIGANTIC BOOBS would have starved to death. Following evolution we would all have DDD boobs, NOT. Sheesh.
Well, I was a 34B before I got pregnant with my first (but a 38D when my milk came in, quickly going back to a B cup) and I nursed quite successfully, thank you. What a jerk! Glad you are switching docs.
LOL, Dh said Good greif, I bet his wife's boobs are like a Z... obviously DH was goofing a little bit. There are other reasons we are switching...He didn't have a sink in the rooms to wash his hands before touching the children..eww, He answered his cell phone during a visit..ugh. I am kinda sad though I thought this would work out for the best, now I feel like I gave Lauren a 2nd hand doctor her first few months..
Sounds like you are making a good decision to switch doctors. This guy sounds like a real bozo! Good for your dd for gaining that much in a week! BTW, I have a friend who is an A cup and all her babies were the fattest little things around (her 3rd child weighed over 20lbs at 3 months!) and she exclusivly breastfed.
Yea for you and her! And big thumbs up for listening to mommy instinct and not the doc! As for a 2nd rate doc, you know she didn't go through any trauma, it was really more stress for you, she is fine and won't recall a thing
Sounds like a different doc is the way to go! My family practice doc, when my kids were little was soooo nice. He was very supportive of breastfeeding, too! Sheesh!
What an idiot. I felt like my boobs were too BIG to breastfeed! (I'm a D as well and very little nipple length...Connor couldn't latch on...I felt like he was telling me "Mom, this is a JOKE! I have nothing to hang on to!" Little did I know I had inverted nipples I guess?) TMI, I know. Don't feel bad about having that kind of doctor for her during her first few months...you're a good mommy for even taking her to a doctor! And, you were so concerned about her weight, even without a doctor's notification...WTG Lauren! Little miss heavyweight!!! Yeah, mommy too!!
10lbs???!!! That's great! Imagine giving birth to that! My first dd was 10lbs 1 oz! LOL!!!
Maybe he has boob envy?! Or maybe he was taking about Laurens boobs? rofl! Sorry you had to go to such a goob! Glad you are switching. ;)
