Anyone Used 'Pal Mickey' at DisneyWorld?
Okay, DD is nine and in the middle of the night Thursday (technically early Friday morning) she awoke with a fever of about 103 and threw up two times. She said her head and throat hurt badly. Friday morning she said she was better but her head still hurt. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday she had fevers of about 99.5 off and on, and still occasionally complained about her head and throat. She was pretty much functional and still played and was active, but tired easily. She also had no appetite, altho she never threw up again after those first two times. On Monday she was all better. Now today, Tuesday, she has a rash all over her neck, chest, and back, and her face is blotchy. Any ideas?? Since she is nine I'm thinking it can't be one of those typical toddler illnesses, but who knows!
Sigh....this always happens to me! It insists on using past topics of mine!!! Sorry!
It sounds exactly like roseola, unless you are positive that she had it when she was younger. The high fever followed with the low-grade fever, general achies, and the rash are all classic symptoms. Whatever it is, I hope she is feeling better soon.
Thanks, Tink! It was nice of you to find this despite the topic! I'm not sure if she ever had it before. I researched it and they said most have had it by age four, but who knows. Fifth disease sounded like another possibility but I hope not because I read that can last three weeks and we're going to Disney (hence the Pal Mickey topic of the past) this month and I'd like her looking well!
I also thought of Fifth's but didn't want to bring it up since it can really be a yucky sickness as an older child or adult. Can you get her into the ped or a same day clinic? Good luck!
