Toddler food ideas
I saw the cutest thing at the store the other day...baby goldfish!! I was so worried he was going to choke on the bigger goldfish...now they make them in itsy bitsy sizes! (Or, maybe they've had around for a while but I didn't notice. LOL) And, if you're looking for an alternative to cheerios, Connor has really liked a cereal called "Tiger Power"...it has more protein than O's. I'm worried he's not getting enough protein at times. He's a big milk drinker, but he's allergic to eggs and he's turned his nose at meat. Any suggestions for protein?
Have you tried yogurt?? I think some brands are pretty high in protein???
Yes, he loves yogurt...I should check the yobaby yogurt...didn't think of that!
Yes, baby Goldfish have been around for awhile. Protein - cut up soft cheese or cheese sticks, cottage cheese
The yobaby yogurt is great. Christopher loves it and it has lots of iron as well!
My kids loved grated cheese, also they loved pinto beans. I would just cook them normal, we don't use any thing spicy and let cool.
They also have "Teddy Grahams" in a tiny size for toddlers. I find they come in the resealable bags.
Cheese and green veggies, too. Natalie likes the yo baby better than regular yogurt any day, too. She also loves cinnamon teddy grahams, just broken in half.
My DD still eats baby gold fish! LOL! The only thing I could add is soft fruit, like bananas or peaches. (My DD always loved the Gerber stage 2 (?) peaches and pear chunks.
What meat has he turned up his nose at? I bake boneless, skinless chicken breasts for Helen and cut them into cubes. They are so tender they melt in her mouth and just the right size for picking up! She also likes mini turkey or beef meatballs cut into quarters. She'll even eat smoked turkey hot dogs - no skin. Oh, and tuna fish! Can you tell she's a gavone? Randy would never touch the jarred baby meat, and I've never even tried with Helen. Ame
I buy the Tyson frozen cubed grilled chicken and it's good! I just pop it in the microwave for about a minute, break it up more, and Natalie loves it.
Hhhmmm...lots of good ideas here ladies! Thanks so much! I'll try a lot of them...I also want to try cottage cheese and cubed chicken. He doesn't like the shredded chicken.
Rice and beans together make a complete protien. I give Matt canned black beans.
