My youngest son lives with me temporarily, as does his dog, Sascha. Sascha just had her checkup and Scott came home with two containers to bring back to the vet, one with a urine sample and one with a stool sample. Saturday he got the urine sample, but she didn't provide the stool sample when he walked her. Now, he works 11 pm to 7 am, and generally sleeps 8 or 9 am to 6 pm or so, but he announced he would get up at Noon to walk her and get the sample. I said look, I'll walk her and then drop both samples off at the vet when I run my errands. He responded that "I don't want you to have to do that?" Do what, I asked - get a stool sample. Well yes, he said, it's yucky. I asked, how many diapers do you think I've changed in my lifetime - and how could sticking a scoop into a stool be any worse? He did the math, sort of, and agreed that I'd had lots of messy experiences, but somehow this was different. I'm still not sure how it is different, but I chuckled, and said "it's nice to be protected". He allowed that yes, he was protecting me, and was glad that I didn't mind. I do think it's funny - and very nice. ... Oh, and he walked Sascha a half hour later and she performed, so he got a full 8 hours sleep before his clock went off. And thanked me for dropping off the samples.
That's sweet of him, your son sounds like a great guy!!
Ginny, your ds has been kind to us here at mv, too. We all know he works long hours but he will respond to our questions, personally, when asked. He is very considerate of your feelings....what a nice guy!
That was sweet of him! I'm glad he got a good day's sleep. I know when I worked nights, that wasn't always easy! Some of those diapers I changed, really weren't bad and didn't leave much of a mess on those tiny little butts, but others of those messes nearly took a whole container of wipes to clean off. I don't miss those, at all!
