Recommendations for cleansers for 10 yr old....

Thought I would start my daughter on a morning routine with facial cleaning. Any ideas on best brands to look at? It will be difficult to keep her on a daily routine since brushing her teeth is STILL not happening without me TELLING her to do it. No pimple problems yet. She has some tiny single bumps from time to time. Not in puberty yet, from what I can tell...besides the attitude. THANKS
I don't have any suggestions. I know Mary Kay makes a teen cleansing product that's good, but I can't think of the name of it right now. Velocity??? I just wanted to say, though, A is NOT 10 already!!! She can't be! Good grief, we've got to find a way to keep these kids from growing up...
I would die without my Proactiv...wish I had it when I was younger!
My DD tried Proactiv and it made her acne worse. She now uses Neutrongena acne care and loves it. I think the Proactiv was too strong for her. Her skins tends to be sensitive, though. I've heard good things about the Velocity. It has a cleanser and then a moisturizer with SPF.
I'm no help just telling you I'm looking too. My 8 year old has an oily t-zone and bumps along her hairline. I think she's going to be an early bloomer. I hear ya about the attitude! She also has excema so skincare will likely be trial and error.
I would go to your local dept. store to the Clinique counter. It's expensive, don't be suckered into their whole facial regimen routines but buy something gentle to wash her face and a good moisturizer.
Both my dds use clinique (it may be expensive but it lasts for over 6 months sometimes longer) and I have friends that rave about mary kay velocity for their dds. Make sure the moisturizer has some sun protection in it (it is actually a seperate step in clinique).. it will really help in the long run with problems that come a lot later in life.
My dd is 9 and uses Clean and Clear. She used to get the bumps on her nose but they are gone now.
my daughter only washes her face with (Water Only ) she was told to wash down her face with cold water about 3 times then go over it with warm water about 3 times no soap and since she is doing that her face looks great no pimples on her face and she used to be loaded with them . She told em she will never used soap or anything again and she3 wears light makeup at times to.
I found that my dd was really only good at using a swipe and toss product. We use cetaphil in the bath, but she has some gentle stridex pads to clean her face with, she will use those pretty regularly.
My oldest has started using Cetaphil in the shower for her face. It's what I use for my sensitive skin and I like how gentle but effective it is. It doesn't hurt that it's reasonably priced and easy to find at any drugstore or megastore.
My kids used to use Cetaphil until the ingredients were changed. It now contains nut oils. Both kids have severe nut allergies. DS(12) uses a Neutrogena facial wash and toner. He was starting to get pimples on his nose, but this has helped.
Thanks everyone. I sure hope we find something that is easy enough for her to stick to. For myself, I never had face issues so I have always only used water on my face. But DH had terrible pimples so I don't want to find ourselves in that arena without already having a healthy routine in action before we need it. All my siblings had bad acne as well, so I don't know why I lucked out. As I told my mom from the get go "you didn't save any hormones for me" (refering to female development...or lack of it as a teenager, LOL. I was child #4) Trina, I wonder why they would have changed the ingredients???? If it's not broke, dont fix it, right? I hate "new and improved" Have you written them to request the old formula due to nut allergies? You can't be the only ones affected.
I just have always used dove soap and water, sometimes witch hazel for a toner and always neutrogena or eucerin moisturizer w/sunscreen.
