Bad mommy moments
LOL...i had to laugh today. It has just been one of those summer days. We got up a little late, missed swim team, we made pancakes and the kids headed outside. I was getting some church work done and it took all morning. We have been completely out of real food in the house for about a week, so we have been eating crap or eating out. So at lunch I manage to russle up some ramen noodles for 2 kids and some lunchmeat type lunchables thing for the other, I ate some leftovers. Well for dinner the last single serve pizza went to one kid and we are out of even junk food now. Well at 1 we went swimming all afternoon, then they went back outside. I knew I NEEDED to go to the store, but they were all playing so nice. My dd went to an evening camp from 6:30 to 10, so while she was out my boys and I went to an outdoor concert. So I pick her up, deliver the carpool kids, it is now past 10, I am almost out of gas and we NEED food. So I say the heck with it, and went to the store. My dh is out of town, so we all go. The LOOKS I got were unbelievable! We are in summer now, my kids are 7,9 and 11. And we were buying good food..LOL. I could have planned my time better, but just hated to ruin their day! But they are all now in bed and I have groceries to put away. Just thought i would share!
Not bad mommy moments...fun family memories! "Hey do you remember when we ate junk food for a week and then Mom took us grocery shopping at 11 at night?" Sounds like a great spontaneous day when you took time to smell the roses!
ROFL! I agree with Pam!
I totally agree with Pam! Just think if you were so uptight about bedtimes in the Summer--you'd still have no food! LOL! Seriously, those late nights to the drive in and such, I still remember from when I was young! They probably thought it was a hoot!
I have been to the store, late at night, with my kids once in a while! LOL! They will remember it! When Sarah was going to her old-time school house in about a week, I was at Walmart at 9:30pm, on a Friday night, buying a pattern and material, so I could get started on her dress the next day! LOL! Her field trip was the following Thursday! Talk about last minute, but she had seen someone else, with a homemade dress, that had already gone on the field trip and she knew I could sew, so how could I say no? I wasn't working, either! (well, okay, just the lunchtime job, but that was less than 2 hours a day.)
