DD twitching a bit
A few weeks ago I noticed that my dd (5) would have what looked like some sort of spasm in her belly. It would sort of jerk and do what looked like "the wave" for no reason. I asked her if it hurt "no" I asked her if she was doing it or if it was happening on it's own and she said it was happening on its own. So I called the Dr. and he had no idea what it was. He said it could be just contracting to digest and push the food toward the bowels (or something like that). So I stopped worrying about it and I have not noticed it happening in a while. Then just now she was on the sofa and sort of twitched or jerked her upper body and right shoulder (this happend several times). Now when this happens her facial expression doesn't change at all. She just keeps on watching tv or playing. I asked her if she was ok and she said yes. Nothing hurts her and she doesn't even seem to know it is happening. Am I being a worry wart? Should I be worried? What do you all think?
I don't know Patti, I posted something similar weeks ago about my son having a little tic. I was adviced not to pay attention to it. It doesn't happen a lot but when it does i wonder why he does it (a twist of his head, sideways a couple of times at a time). I would say watch her, but don't mention it to her and see what happens. Surely is nothing and it will go away soon. Ginny said to me that i worry too much, i kind of agree with her, so i am trying not to pay too much atention to it. I notice it less and less, it's only when my mum mentions it that i start noticing again. Good luck darling
Did I tell you the time my mom babysat... by the time she was done with ds he had a eye twitch. Doctor said to ignore it and it went away in two days. She was reinforcing the eye twitch(oh look you are twitching) so he was twitching to get attention. That happened when he was two.
I would ignore it and just keep an eye on it. Also, if it goes away, keep an eye for it being replaced with something else. Definitely don't draw attention to it- esp if she doesn't notice...LOTS of experience in this dept if you have more ?'s.....
Thank you! I feel better already! Maria the "twist of the head a few times at a time" sounds exactly like what my dd is doing. I did start ignoring the stomach thing and it went away, I guess i will do the same with this.
It could just be muscle spasms (or however you spell it) I get them sometimes for no apparent reason.
