How quickly do your boys go through socks?? It seems I'm constantly buying new socks for DS (8.5). They either have holes in the heels or toes or are stained beyond help from playing outside. DD certainly doesn't go through socks as quickly, but then again, she's barefoot if at all possible. LOL!

ROFL... Your post only lets me know I am not alone. My dh brought home packs of socks for all the guys in house just this week!!! :)

We catch them OUTSIDE in their socks all the time. Even though it has been told to them over and over again not to do it. Dh says that Bill Cosby use to joke that all kids are brain damaged. So we are always joking with each other about just chalking things up to their being brain damaged. ;)

I saw some that had a grey bottom. I know someone who uses those.

Definately not alone! I just came home with new socks for ds.

LOL! I just did a "sock treatment." That's a second load of laundry with a soak cycle and TONS of bleach for the socks that didn't get cleaned the first time around. I'll tell you, my socks are not in there! BOYS!

Umm..expect to not only have to continually replace their socks, but also their sneakers. I have had to replace my older boys sneakers twice since school started. The joys of boys. :)

I just got back from Target with new socks for my ds's. They are playing baseball now and half of them are orange from the dirt on the fields. They always get holes and are dirty no matter how much bleach I use.

Here's a kind of pathetic sock story for you-- My sister would probably die if she knew I was telling this story. Last yr her mil had to watch her kids for a few weeks in the summer while my sis worked... Her mil (the kids grandma) told my nephew NOT to get his socks on her couch and the next day he went there she had put a sheet over her furn. I nearly fell over when I heard this. My sister was so embarrassed and hurt and irritated. Her ds socks were stained and his g-ma was a really rude about it. This is a g-ma who raised 3 boys of her own.

Ginyn it is easier to just say MALES then to list everything they go through so quickly!! I was just complaining about the socks thing this morning!

Yes yes yes!

When we went to Disney World in October I forgot to pack socks for ds. So we ended up buying him 2 pairs of socks. 1 with Woody and 1 with Buzz on them. They are both getting holes in them now. My ds (4 yrs) started to cry when i told him that he could not wear those socks any more he said "but those are from Disney World!" poor thing.

Well after years of the perfect socks, we found them! The Peds for kids, they have a blue sole to them, fit great, but alas they do stain:( But they hold up better than the others, I found them at Target. My ds who is now 8 used to complain that his socks had "beans" in them when the seam would get worn and threads bunched up, thanks for bringing back the memory!
I have found that dawn dish soap pre treatment, than bleach soaking keeps them a bit whiter!
