My dd has a cold...again from her dad and I've been giving her childrens multi symptom pediacare. I wanted to know if anyone has had better success with anything else? Thanks

We use Hylands C-PLus Cold Tablets- all natural and homeopathic. Works well for her!

Pediacare (although recommended by my girls pediatrician) was like giving them water...it did nothing. But now the same doctor suggests Children's Dimatapp and it works great for my girls. My youngest dd is 21 months old and they said to give her 1/2 tsp. every 4-6 hours. I always call and tell my doctors what is going on and they tell me what to get, my girls had a runny nose and a loose cough, no fever. My girls haet to take cough medicine and only liked the bubble gum flavored dimatapp plus cough, everything else takes them forever to get down. Good Luck and I hope your dd gets better soon.

Thanks! I'll try the Dimatapp. I've never heard of the Hylands tablets. Do you get it from a health store?

By Hlgmom on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 01:53 pm:

They carry them in most health food stores or natural stores. Some pharmacies carry them as well. Most pharmacies carry their teething tablets. Good Luck!

The Hylands teething tabs are great and we got ours at Wal-mart. I've never tried the Hylands cold tabs though.
I've always used the chidrens Dimetapp grape liquid. Just dose it down from the recommendations for 2 year olds. There is a generic but my dd did not like the flavor of the generic one and wouldn't take it.
And for the stuffy nose I use the Little Noses saline and the Little Noses decongestant (it's kind of like Afrin but a safer ingredient for little ones.
Childrens Tylenol or childrens Motrin for fever, aches and pain.
