Hi everyone.. I was reading thru your chats when looking for advice on sleep patterns. What a wonderful support you are. I posted a query in the Introduce yourself section and Trina kindly responded - Thanks again-. I now have another query and was wondering if I could tap into your experience. I have a 10.5mo DD and am thinking of starting her on yoghurt but am abit hesitant as to the preparation of it. I somehow cant bring myself to giving her anything cold at this stage... what do/did you guys do? Thanks.

Just gave it to them cold. I bet your daughter will be delighted with the new taste AND the new sensation on her tongue.

My girls started eating yogurt at around 6 months (as recommended by their pediatrician). They loved it and it didn't bother them at all that it was cold. And Welcome to Momsview!

I gave my DD yogurt at that age and she loved it.
They have yogurt for babies now called YoBaby. It's actually pretty good.

I can't get DD to eat yogurt no matter what. I wish she liked it. I imagine it would be a fun experience though. :)

8 1/2 month old LOVES Yobaby yogurt. She eats it for breakfast every morning.

Oh I bet she will really like the cool feeling in her mouth! She may surprise you and eat it right up and want more!

My dd started refusing her warm milk bottle at 5 months and I started giving her cool to cold bottles then.

Also I had this thing about making yogurt frozen pops and letting babies teeth on them. You put yogurt into those small muffin cups with a plastic spoon in it. Then freeze. Then the baby has the small frozen yogurt thing on a safe spoon to gnaw at and run their sore little gums around those edges. DD loved it when she was teething and that started at around 8 or 9 months.

Thanks guys... I feel alittle braver now that its been "tried and tested". I dont think I have seen any baby yoghurt in our supermarkets here. Would you believe I bought a tub of vanilla yoghurt and its been sitting in the fridge for the last week? Everytime I go to it I think..."uhhh... maybe next fridge visit" and on and on it went. Its probably expired by now.I am sure she will like the cool sensation esp since its still pretty warm for our Fall/autumn.

My 10 months Jade was eating things right out of the fridge. Cold was nothing for her and she loves yogurt. She started getting it around 6 months.

Connor can't eat it fast enough! He begs for more after each swallow! Let us know how it goes!!

By Shazwill on Saturday, March 26, 2005 - 06:30 am:

Finally did it!! And she likes it.. I think. SHe didnt protest neither did she seem wowed. I found some kids yoghurt so am giving her half of that. She tends to only want to take half and then gets bored. But its so cute to watch that expression when they try a totally new taste..
Hope you have a great Easter.
