Trina, Can you help me please. I am looking for a new seat for Jade that will work from now until the end hopefully. She is 25#'s right now. The one we have is old and I need to replace it. Can you give me some suggestions. Thanks.

Jade just turned 1 yr., right? Is she rear facing or forward facing? At her age and weight she could still be rear facing, but she does meet the minimum requirements for forward facing (12 mos. and 20 lbs.). That would be your parental decision. At this point there isn't a seat I would recommend that would last "until the end". Car seats expire 6 yrs. after date of manufacture and current recommendations advocate kids stay harnessed until 4 yrs. and 40 lbs. and in a booster until 4'9". That said, I would recommend either a convertible or a combination car seat. Recommended car seats and a Compatibility Database at CarSeatData.org. Be sure to get one with a 5 pt. harness and a front harness adjuster.

She is forward facing. What would you recommend for her until she hits the booster stage?

Since she is forward facing you could get a combination seat, which harnesses to 40 lbs. and then transitions to a booster. Examples: Graco Cargo or Evenflo Chase. They both come in different versions, some with more padding than others, but be sure to get one with a front harness adjuster. A little more $ but WELL worth it for the convenience and ease of use.
