When did you stop baby food?
When did your kids stop eating baby food and were only on table food? What's the early and late age range for this? My dd is 8 1/2mths and really getting going on table food and feeding herself, but I was just wondering. I know some of you have said you were totally table food by 9 mths or so. DD barely has her first two teeth coming in but is chewing food and does well with just about everything we've given her. Thanks!!!
DD who is the same age hasn't had any Baby food in almost two weeks. All she eats is table food and her formula now. I love it!
It must have been about 8-9 months or so, for Sarah. She got to a point where she much preferred our food to jarred baby food, so I stopped buying it.
I think it was around 8-9 months for all three of my girls. They had enough teeth to eat table food at that point - I just made sure it was in tiny pieces and mostly soft things like, squash, green beans, cooked carrots - just about any vegetable, cereals, mac n cheese, and the microwavable dinners.
That teeth thing is a little bit of a wives tale. Those front teeth are only for tearing, so as long as you small with bite size pieces they should be able to eat almost anything. My dd didn't have any teeth until 16 months. We kept her on baby food for a long time until a doc said, what are you waiting for..LOL. My middle kid never ate a whole jar of baby food, there was just too much real food around for him to settle. I would say by 7 months no more baby food for him. The youngest guy probably gave it up completely by 9-10 months.
9 mo. My oldest didn't get his first tooth until 13 months. He gummed his birthday cake! You're giving soft table foods anyhow, so it doesn't really matter about the teeth. They're not really ready for steak at 9 mo! LOL!
Jade still uses the gradute stuff like the fruit and meat sticks but after what we use what wehave at home we will be stopping she is 13 months. We stopped with the 2nd or 3rd stage stuff about 3 months or so ago. She much prefers table food and if she cannot feed herself then forget it.
My dd did not like the baby food and I think it was around 8-9 months. She really just did not want anything to do with the baby food anymore, so not much choice. The funny thing is she is still like this about a lot of things. She decides something and it takes a miracle to change her mind.
My dd is 8 months and I am also stopping the baby food. She loves table food and seems disappointed if fed jar food. If I give her baby food and she sees us eating table food, I end up feeding her twice. We do use some of the Gerber Graduates, just for convenience, but majority of her food is what we eat.
We stopped at 11 months with Rylee.
We stopped around 11 months for Christopher also.
