What time do your DK's eat breakfast?
It's driving me crazy because as soon as DD wakes up (6-6:30) she wants breakfast within 5 minutes of waking. At that point, i'm still trying to wake up myself. I've gotten to the point of making a big batch of cheese eggs and other breakfast items during dinner the night before so I can just throw it in the microwave in the morning instead of cooking when i'm not awake quite yet. So, how long after your DK's wake up do they want breakfast?
I have two on the opposite ends of the spectrum...My dd will not eat breakfast,(and after 14 years, I've finally given up. I just insist that she drink something.) and my ds is like yours...he wants to eat ASAP. Of course, he's now almost 12, so he fixes his own breakfast when he gets up. Gosh, I love having older kids!
We eat breakfast shortly after getting up, however, it's nothing that takes much effort to prepare. Cereal, milk, fruit, yogurt, toast, english muffins, etc..
My kids eat right when they get up as well. It's easy now that they are older and can get breakfast for themselves. The boys even help Peyton get her breakfast! It's definitely much easier now that they are more independent.
If Katelyn does not eat first thing in the morning she wants to eat all day...a handful of cereal, a 1/2 cup of noodle soup....that is frustrating so I would rather get up and cook breakfast one time, and then go on with our day. Hailey does fine she hardly ever asks for food, I just cook and she eats. So I cook in the morning when they get up or before. DH leaves early so when I cook him breakfast I make a little extra and when they wake up I warm it up for them. That works out the best.
Freeze some pancakes, french toast, & waffles. My kids love the gogurts. We eat 1/2 hour to hour after waking up.
How about giving her some cheerios to much on while you prepare her breakfast? Or some fruit? When my son gets up too early, I give him some fruit or a bowl of cheerios and a cup of milk or juice. He munches while I get my act together. 45 min to an hour later, I serve him a scrambled egg or waffle or some other more filling breakfast. Ame
Rylee wants to eat right when she wakes up which is between 8:00 and 8:45. I usually give her either cereal, cream of wheat, or oatmeal bars. I will give her pancakes or waffles sometimes too, but not on a regular basis.
My kids eat right after they get up, it's wake up, potty, ready to eat! They eat cereal and yogurt most days, but someting like frozen waffles, scrambled eggs, or pancakes about 3 times a week.
My girls are usually not hungry for a half hour or so when they get up. They do usually ask for something to drink though.
Ditto Trina, Melanie, Crystal. My kids want to eat immediately so we keep it simple. The oldest two can make a bowl of cereal or toast on their own but I've been getting up 15 minutes before they do so I can have my coffee and be coherent when they start up with the "Mom, can I..." and "Mom, I want..." It just seems easier now.
My dd wants to eat as soon as we come downstairs. She will just have cereal or toast. My ds says he wants breakfast asap, but when i pour the milk into the bowl of cereal he barely eats anything. Than an hour later he is "soooo hungry!" KIDS! I usually eat pretty soon after i wake up. I will just have cereal, toast or a bagel. Sometimes oatmeal.
6:30am for the school kids. Blake usually eats a banana in the van while making our rounds to drop off brothers at school. He asked for toast at 7:45 this morning after playing with the puppy for 30 minutes. lol Give her a nanner and Mom! lol My kids also drink those Chocolate Carnation Breakfast drinks. They are full of good stuff and are very filling. Just a tip for when your dd is older.
6.00am
My boys eat within 30 minutes of getting up on school day. They usually eat easy stuff like cereal, bagels, microwave pancakes, fruit, etc. On the weekends, dh usually cooks a big breakfast, but he has to have his 2 cups of coffee first. If they get hungry before it is ready, they will just grab some fruit or something to hold them until it is done.
My oldest eats at 5am - she has to get the bus earlier than my other dks. The other kids eat at 6:50am, pretty much right after they get up. On the weekends or vacations it's whenever.
7:30. We are up at 7:00 during the week. Weekends are a whole different story. They eat as soon as they can convince us to get out of bed Usually around 8-8:30.
