I guess there is a difference.
DD has been on Huggies Supreme diapers since she was born pretty much. It's the only diaper she could wear that wouldnt have her breaking out in constant diaper rash. Well last week when I went to buy more diapers I bought the Huggies Ultra Trims since it was almost $3 cheaper and I figured it would be the same thing since it was still made by Huggies. Well 2 days later she broke out in diaper rash and its been coming and going since. I think the Supremes hold in urine better because when I change these Ultra Trims, she feels a lot more wet on her skin than normal. So I guess the $3 is no big deal if it will keep diaper rash away. Not an interesting post but I thought i'd share anyways. Anyone else have a child that can only use a certain brand of diaper?
I guess I have been lucky. Kaylee has never had a diaper rash and I have tried many different diapers. Well, all the ones Huggies or Pampers make. Right now I bought a pack of the Pampers Cruisers and I love them.
I definitely preferred the more expensive diapers when my kids were still wearing them. Sometimes, DH would cheap out on me and buy the less expensive ones. I always hated them. They didn't fasten as nicely and never held as much pee! Yuck!
We always preferred Huggies Supremes diapers and wipes. My ds always had a problem with yeast rashes if he got the slightest bit red and these really helped alot. I figured the money vs. the hassle was a no-brainer.
Hailey wears Huggies Convertibles but all the way up til she was 1 she wore Huggies supremes they are way better (IMO) at holding urine inside teh diaper instead of leaking.
What are convertibles?? They didn't have them when my kids were little.
I have switch between huggies and pampers, I guess I have been lucky with leaks.... so far. I do use the pampers sensitive/fragrance free wipes. That seems to help with getting a rash. DD had an awful rash while she was teething. The doctor's office suggested A&D ointment. It works so well!
Trina they are great!!! Especially since Hailey is potty training. They slip on like a pull up but then you can also tear the sides and use them as a diaper. I love them.
We use the Sam's Club brand and love them!!! Cheaper and never a leak or rash problem yet!!!
I would have liked the more paper-like diapers they have now. My kids' diapers had the plastic cover.
We used mostly huggies for diapers, and occasionally safeway brand but by the time he was potty trained he was too big for anything but huggies. As far as wipes go, imo Huggies wipes rock, I never even bother w/ any other brand. They are tough enough to handle the really messy ones w/out ending up putting your finger through the wipe (EW)
Melissa, Here is some info on the chemicals on cloth diapers. Note this is a biased site as they are promoting cotton diapers, but I thought you might find this interesting: http://www.ecobaby.com/cloth.htm I wanted to use cloth, but it seemed like way too much work. I bought some all-in-one diapers but they did not spin-out properly in my front loading machine and took 2 hours to dry in my dryer. I might consider a diaper service for the second baby. Anyone use a diaper service?
Thanks Heaventree, i'll check it out. I'm actually considering cloth diapers with #2.
I use Drybottoms from Wal-Mart and have never had a problem with rashes or leaking. They are pretty cheap too.
I use Luvs for my youngest - love them and they smell so good. Melissa - I used cloth diapers with my middle child - saved a lot of money. It's worth it, but it is a lot of extra work.
I used cvs brand for a while. They were fine. Ds was a very large child though. Eventually I could only buy pampers. for full coverage.
I used Luv's with my first born(DD)loved thenm, so when DS was born 9 yrs later it was luvs again.BUt my DS is a big boy for his age so around 8 months we needed to find a size 6 that could not only fit, but hold the leaks, and was coomfortable with his moving about( crawling at the time). We tried Huggies I'm not sure if they where ultra thins or what , but they must have been selling the defective bags in my area stores. i have so many huggies diapers in my diaper drawer where the tabs have torn off with the slighetst tugs to get them to go around my son's waist. So I stated looking for stretchier sides. tried Pampers Baby Dry, not big enough for DS bottom, on a accident not paying attention I picked up a bag of Papmers cruisers and low adn behold we have a winner, until we start party training (April 16 months old)where sticking with PC. Now I would love to hear which traiing pants for those oh you who are party training consider good. f been readign abotu then but the Feel 'n'Learn I dont' understand how that is suppsosed to help a child to learn when to go ot the rest room. I mean if they feel wet and then go to the bathroom itsnt' it allready to late once they feel the wetness. I would like and welcome any suggestions on what if any of you have found to be a good trainign pants. You knwo use to get into/out of, comfortable for the child.

I loved Luvs, and the AAFES brand were so cheap and worked well for us. We used them for most of the kids' diaper days. I only used Huggies when they were in preemies, because they were the smallest I could find, and Maddie was still swimming in them. Pampers feel greasy to me, but I think of all the non-military brands Luvs were my favorite.
