Scabees (sp??)
I know that is not the spelling, but I'm not sure how it is spelled, but my ds (22 months) was diagnosed with that yestarday. He has a rash and has been itching like crazy!! Has anyone had this or knows anything about it??? Thanks! Nina
http://www.aad.org/public/Publications/pamphlets/Scabies.htm scabies are essentially a mite that is laying eggs and hatching under the skin. You and anyone who has had a lot of contact w/your son will need to be treated as well. They are very contaigous.
I'm a teacher and I was told once by a school nurse that it is like lice for the skin. HIGHLY contagious.
Thanks for the info! But if anyone has had any personal experience with I would appreciate it!! My poor ds is still scratching himself! We (my whole family) did treat ourselves with the medicine too, but none of us have any symptoms! I've cleaned EVERYTHING and just hoping it goes away soon!! I have no idea where he could have got it from! He's home with me all the time or at the park, no daycare or preschool yet. Thanks, Nina
"I" had this in my early 20s from being exposed to kids at the day camp I was working at. I became very itchy AT NIGHT, and only at night, mainly in the body parts behind my knees, middle of arms above my elbows, upper inner thighs. Once it was diagnosed by my idiot doctor, even though I told him I had been exposed, it cleared up almost immediately after taking the meds. It is very contagious.
I just had a chuckle. I have just posted to this thread and the impetigo post. I am a very clean person and my family is very clean! It may not seem that way tonight....but we really are! However, I have experience with pinworms and lice, also! LOL AHHH, the joys of children!
Annie, I, too, am very clean!!! But I guess that just doesn't matter! And I've heard that lice actually is really attracted to CLEAN hair! Thanks, Nina
