Favorite Bedtime books for toddler?
Hey again - My 16mo is finally sick of Goodnight Moon and Goodnight Sweet Butterflies - so I need a couple new, simple, rhythmic bedtime stories for him. He is 16mo. Anyone have any favorites for this age group?? Thanks!!!!! Amy
I used to love Goodnight moon. I also used to read Moo, Baa, La la la by Sandra Boynton and Chicka chicka boom boom. Some really beautiful childrens books for kids of all ages can be found here.. http://www.barefoot-books.com/us/site/pages/home.php very high quality and beautiful illustrations.
The best books I get are when I take ds to the book store and see which ones he likes. Baby faces ds loved. Peek a boo books.
I Am A Bunny and Runaway Bunny were favorites.
Ten, Nine, Eight Dad counts down from ten tiny toes to one sleepy girl! Very cute story. List of stories for different situations, including bedtime
Over in the Meadow (this is classic and has counting and animals) Jesse Bear (whole series of these) I Spy board book (we had one perfect for this age as opposed to a majority of I Spy which are for older kids) If you have a library near you with a children's section maybe a librarian could send you in the right direction?
Thank you so much everyone - I've ordered some of your suggestions from Amazon and I'm sure my ds will love them! Amy
Oh, I LOVED the Jesse Bear books! (how did my children get older so fast?)
Ok, well I tried to post last night but it wouldn't let me. We LOVE a book called "I Love You" a Rebus Poem by Jean Marzollo and Suse MacDonald. This is a great book for boys or girls and gets them involved with picture words its short and sweet and great for bonding!!!
I love to read The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown. DD's new favorite is The Napping House by Audrey Wood.
Going to sleep on the farm was one of my kids favs. Also anything by sandra boyton.
DD loved and still loves the Sandra Boynton books. They are simple but cute and easy to read 2 or 3 times each night. We also like Guess How Much I Love You. The last line is something like "And I love you, all the way to the moon... and back." We say that to each other all the time now. And another fave is Do You Love Me Mama?
My son loved the Bugs in Boxes books and any lift the flap books! This is such an amazing time for toddlers! Ame
