Your Christmas recommendations!
I would like to know your recommendations for Christmas gifts. My DKS are: boy 5 and girl 8. My dd wants one of those video now things but the discs that go with them look like shows I don't allow her to watch. It seems like a waste of money to me so I'm looking for other ideas
Wedgits. Magnetix or Supermag or any of those magnetic things. K'nex. Aquadoodle.
Knex, legos, anything from Klutz.
Your DD is old enough to make get into bead work. like click its or something in the craft section. If she likes the video now, maybe a walkman/CD player and some disney cd's. The movie mix one is fun. My 5 yr. DS likes Beach Boys. If they like to sing, an inexpensive karaoke machine.
My ds is 4 and my dd is 8. Since my dks are so close in age to your dks I'll tell you what my dks are getting this year. ds - tinker toys, legos, Shrek 2 dvd, puzzles, Elefun game, several books, Dora the Explorer computer game, clothes, cowboy boots, and I am going to make a fleece blanket and matching pillow. dd - Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban dvd, Hillary Duff cd, three book sets, a Harry Potter Quiddich computer game, clothes, a fleece blanket and matching pillow, a fleece poncho in her favorite colors that I am going to make and embroidery designs on, and a doctor Barbie. This year isn't going to be the huge toy fest that Christmas usually is around here. My dks have so much already and my mom always goes nuts and buys them about 10 toys apiece anyway. The really interesting thing to me this year is how my dks aren't begging and pleading for the latest junky, expensive toys. At the beginning of last summer I cut off their tv viewing to a half and hour a day and only on certain channels (Nickelodeon is no longer allowed in our home due to the commercialization and questionable appropriateness of some of the shows). The channels they are allowed to watch do not have any commercials and now my children don't constantly have the "gimmies" for the latest fad. It is really, really nice!
my ds is turning 4 and I just bought him the Imaginex Pirate ship, Lincoln Logs and the new Cranuim Hullabaloo game. He also loves his GeoTrax train set and GI Joes. He is asking for a guitar too.
