Signs of a growth spurt???
I'm wondering if sleeping more is a sign of a growth spurt, I know Alexis is eating more, and she's cut two teeth in the last week, but she is right now taking her third nap for the day, on top of sleeping through the night(FINALLY!) Not sure if I should be concerned about her sleeping so much during the day or not. TIA Melana
My DD always sleeps during growth spurts.
My 7-1/2 month old, for some reason is not a big napper. I always thought babies like to sleep, but he must be afraid he will miss something, lol, even if I lay him down and leave him alone, he still rarely will fall asleep.
I can tell when my 3 year old is going through a growth spurt, she sleeps like a log and forever!! Same with my 16 month old. I wouldn't be concerned about it, most likely it is a sign of growing.
I used to worry about Timmy sleeping all the time and brought it up to our pediatrician on more than one occassion. He just never had the sleep problems that I heard everyone talk about. He slept for 11 hours a night since he was 6 weeks old and has always taken at least 2 naps of at least two hours long until just recently (now it's only one) and he is two now. She told me to be thankful that I had a good sleeper. If he still slept through the night, then he was tired during the day and to let him sleep and nap as he wanted. It must have worked because he turned two in June and, as I tell my mom all the time, he's still alive and kicking.
My 7 year old actually complains of leg pain during growth spurts. The pain is always in the shin area. I've asked the doc about it and she said that some kids actually get "growing pains"
During growth spurts my 3 1/2 year old dd will sleep hard and long, eat everything in sight, and is a tad bit grumpy. As long as there is no other sign of illness like congestion, coughing, fever, pulling at the ears, etc I wouldn't worry about it.
My son always sleeps a lot when he is going through a growth spurt. He also sleeps more when he is teething. Just be thankful for the extra rest you can get!!!
Well, she's doing both, started drooling a lot again, and I'm SOOOO happy to be getting enough sleep.
