Carseat question
Trina, I've got a question for you. You may remember a while back I bought a combination seat (5 point restraint, converts to booster) anyways. In my caravan there is not a connection for the tether strap so I have not used it, but we have a new Durango with the connector for the tether and when I went to use it the clip came off the seat-then I realized the piece of plastic that the clip connects to on the seat is broken-not sure if it happened when I tightened it or if it has been broken since I owned the seat. Have you heard of this happening before and is there anything I can do about it? It is way too late to return it to the store (over the 90 day return time). Thanks Trina for any input! -Meredith
Personally I would call the manufacturer, that should not have happened. They should replace it.
Is the seat a Cosco seat by any chance? I've heard of their seats falling a part. I would think you should be able to contact the manufacturer like Emily said. Good luck!
What particular car seat is it? There should be a toll free number on one of the labels on the seat. To echo Emily and Eve, call the manufacturer and explain what happened. Sounds defective to me. Let us know how things work out.
Just an update for you Trina. The carseat is fine-the tether was not installed correctly by the factory. The tether was attached to the place where the locking clip is supposed to be stored when not in use. Once I talked to the woman on the phone at Evenflo, I realised the problem. She was very helpful. It was weird because there was not any kind of illustration about how the thether strap should be attached to the carseat itself in the manual that came with it. Oh well. Problem solved.
I am glad that you got it figured out. How scary!
Glad to hear the problem is solved! It sure sounded like something was wrong.
