Booster question for Trina.
I was wodering if you ever heard of the Compass B500 Booster seat. I just bought it for my son who is about to out grow his Britax Roundabout. It's still in the box...I wanted to do some research and see what you thought about it.

Andi, Trina is on vacation this week. You might want to email her. Or else just bump in a few days so she'll see it.
Thanks Eve, I will do that.
Bump....just incase you are back from vacation
I'm back! Andi, I played with a Compass B500 during my CPS Tech class. It seems to be sturdy and nicely padded. Keep in mind it's recommended kids stay in a harnessed car seat until at least 4 yrs. and 40 lbs.. If you'd like to get feedback from people who actually own and use one you can ask here: Car Seats
Welcome home, Trina. Glad you made it back safe.
Thank you. It looks like he is getting too big for his Roundabout, the straps pull down on his shoulders. It also said the weight limilt for that one is 5-30 pounds and he is 35 pounds. He is still in his carseat I havent switched him yet, but he is really wanting to sit in his booster.
The Roundabout goes to 40 lbs. when forward facing, however, if his shoulders are above the top harness slots then he has outgrown it. How close is he to 4? Do you think he's mature enough to sit properly in a booster? Most kids aren't mature enough or big enough to sit correctly (ie: no wiggling or moving out of position) until at least 4 yrs. and 40 lbs.. Best practice is to keep them harnessed for as long as possible. When you transition to a booster you're giving up a little crash protection. If you decide to give it a try be sure he meets the manufacturers size requirements for weight and height. There are seats that harness past 40 lbs. if you decide he's not ready for a booster. I'd be happy to help if you have any questions.
He will be 4 on Jan. 3rd. I do think he can sit in it properly, he is really good about that. He has been useing it for a chair in the house to watch TV, he loves his new booster. I really don't want to put hin in it if he's not ready but I think he might be. He does meet all the height and weight requirements for the booster. I will try to give it a couple more weeks then move him. Thank you soooo much for all your help!
