*Knock on Wood*
Dare I say it?! I think DD is finally potty trained! *knock on wood* She's been in underwear all the time now. We have had no accidents! She's going to bed in pullups, but waking up dry! She's taking naps in underwear! I'm still a little nervous taking her out in public. LOL! Yesterday we were out from 10am until nearly 3pm and she held it! She still refuses to sit on the potty at school, but I went ahead and sent her in underwear. She stayed dry! Woo hoo. I swear, I thought she was going to be 10. So, I'm breathing a big sigh of relief! The only negative, is she refuses to use public restrooms. She is scared of the toilets. I do keep a potty in the car, but she is now refusing to use that! So, we have a little bit of work to do still.
Have you tried the folding potty seat that you can bring along with you? This helps alot. I used to carry that with me, so when ds or dd had to go while we were out i could put that on the public toilet and they didn't feel like they were about to fall in. They sell those at Babies R Us. Good for Sydney, what a big girl!
LOL Eve, just wait until she becomes obsessed with public toilets, and suddenly has to *go* to the bathroom EVERY DARN PLACE YOU GO! (Or were my kids the only strange ones?) BTW, congrats on the potty training!! Yay, Sydney! Yay, Mommy!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! It's a whole new world now
Great Job Sydney! Where do you get the fold up potty?
WOO HOO!!!!!!! Eve, our situation with Jen was that she would get mad at ME when we were in the public toilet situation because *I* wouldn't let her sit on them, and when she was that age, I actually held her up over them. LOL
Way to go, Syd! Don't be surprised if she has an occasional set back. B still doesn't like public bathrooms but is getting better.
That's great news! I wouldn't worry about her not using the public restrooms, my dd did that at first too, we had to put gobs of tp down or a few of those seat covers to let her know it was "safe". She got the idea. LOL..Karen I have held my dd over the toilet plenty of times. Congratulations, Sydney!
LOL happynerdmom, your not alone on that. My dd did the same thing. Had to go potty EVERY place we went!! I also second the suggestion for the fold up potty seat thing. It folds pretty small and covers the seat so they can actually sit on the potty and it is clean too!! That was a life saver for us!! Good job Sydney!!

^5! WOOHOO! That's very exciting news! And yes, my kids were like Michele's and had to use every public bathroom in every place we visited. So much so, that I thought they had a UTI and got them tested. They were fine, just enjoyed the novelty of it all. Good thing about having boys though, you don't have worry about the dreaded nasty toilet seat as much.
yea! Good job Syd!
Yay, Syd!! Glad to know that she won't be wearing a pull-up under her prom dress! Michele, mine loved public restrooms but hate the loud flush! So they would have to go in every one and then cry because I wouldn't leave with the toilet unflushed! Drove me nuts!
Eve, it really is a huge weight off of your shoulders, isn't it? My middle child seemed like it was going to take forever for him to potty train, but then one day - bam! He was good to go, only wet the bed twice since he decided it was time about 4 months ago. Way to go Syd!!!
Good Job! I got my folding up potty seat at Wal-Mart. It is Blue's Clue's but they also had Dora and a few others. We haven't used ours yet however. Still working on it over here.
Congrats Sydney! My girls love public restrooms, too. Ugggh. The whole time we are in there I am just like don't touch anything! Last night DH decided we needed to take the training potty out of the bathroom-neither of the girls need to use it anymore. My oldest DD (only 5 yrs.) asked if she could keep hers for her little girl (it is a wooden one that was handpainted by my stepmother).
