My baby just left the house in BIG GIRL undies!
AGGH! She all of the sudden has taken an interest in the potty! Today at naptime she didn't want to take her undies off for a pullup! Whoa! This is MAJOR in our house. I have to admit, I have been sticking close to home this week because I have not been brave enough to take her out without a pullup! Sooo....Daddy just took her to the store! Ok, I admit it, I passed it off on him! LOL! She filled up her first sticker chart and she's off to the store with Dad to pick up some candy for "when the poop comes." LOL! Anyway, I'm pretty excited. I just had to share.
YEAH, SYD!!
Yay!! I know you have been having a hard time with this. It's so frustrating when you finally decide to let go of something and that is when they decide to do what you wanted the whole time! My youngest just decided to stop wearing a diaper at bedtime after a year of daytime dryness. I am so relieved to know I don't have to buy any more diapers. I wasn't sure this day would ever come. I know exactly what you are feeling. P.S. I don't blame you for doing a hand-off on panties outside the house!
Eve, as soon as I saw the title of this thread, I knew it was you! LOL Congrats and kudos to Syd and mom for a job well done!
I knew it was Syd too. Lucky you Eve! Since we've gotten back from vacation Nico will NOT go near the toilet. Ho Hum. But YAY Syd!!!!
Great news, Eve! I know you were worried about when she would show an interest in potty training. That's just how it is though - one day it happens! That is so great. Kudos to Syd and high five to Mom!
Congratulations to Syd!
Thats how it happened with ds too. Just one day. Poof 97% potty trained.
CNGRATULATINS SYD!!!!!
Pheew! No accidents at the store! LOL! Daddy was relieved too. So far, so good today. We are going away this weekend. I'm not sure if I put her in undies or not. I guess I'll give her a choice and go with what she decides. Then, there is school on Monday. She won't use the potty there, so I don't know if she is ready for undies there. Aggh! I could smack myself for not buying a single book on potty training. Bad choice! LOL! Thanks for the support!
Woo Hoo!!! Hooray for Syd!!!
Great Job Sydney!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eve, send her to SS with a change of clothes and don't worry about it.
Great job Syd!
It's a scary thought, Trina, but I may try it! Thanks.
Eve, Do not show any hesitation about the underware. Don't let her sense you think she may have an accident. I wouldn't even mention a pull-up again..LOL My daughter trained the same way. She made her mind up that she wasn't wearing a diaper anymore. It was so funny because a girlfriend of mine came to show us her new car and take us for a drive when my daughter decided NO MORE DIAPERS! Great timing..lol From that day on she was potty trained. No looking back at diapers ever again.
I agree with Trina. Just bring a change of clothes every where you go and make sure to ask her if she needs to go potty as often as you feel you need to. CONGRATULATIONS SYDNEE!!!!!!!!!! )
When I worked at the daycare parents brought their half trained children to school in big girl/boy underwear, so there is no reason you shouldn't take her to school in them it sounds like she is doing a great job! And congratulations to her and you! A change of clothes is a good idea anyway, just incase..I still leave a change of clothes for my dd in my car just incase and she has been potty trained for almost a year.
Eve, don't sweat not getting a potty training book. It has no way of letting you know what your child will do. You are doing just fine without it. It all comes with time, and occasionally, when you least expect it, an accident. But it all goes away quickly and she will not even think about another diaper ever again.
