HELP!!!!!!!!!
For the past two days, Rylee has screamed at the top of her lungs for about 1-2 hours. Nothing really helps. She is soooo tired and won't fall asleep. Yesterday, I put her in the car and we went for a ride and that worked, but today it didn't. I put her in her crib and she is crying now. It has been about 10 minutes. I can't take it anymore so I have to get her. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I am losing my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is she teething? Does she have a fever? The only things I can think of are that she is cutting teeth, or is sick - maybe an ear infection??
She is teething, so I've given her tylonol and babyoragel. Nothing is working!!!
Sounds like you might want to take her to the DR then, many children can get an ear infection when they are teething.
I'd make sure that she wasn't sick or anything (but with it only being a couple hours a day, it doesn't seem that way). Is she getting over stimulated and past the point where she can go to sleep? My ds(4) went through a stage as a very young infant where he would cry for two hours, from 9-11 p.m. every night like clockwork. This went on for about a month. Like colic, only just for a couple hours for a very short time. Nothing helped, and my poor baby girl went crazy. At the time, she was three! My son was also difficult about sleeping for a spell. First we went through the stage where he could only go to sleep (while in his swing) if the vacuum was going. It would have to run for like half an hour, and then I could turn it off and he would sleep. He would be screaming, and we would turn it on and he would go to sleep instantly. The noise did it for him. Then he passed out of that stage into the "Macy Gray" stage. He took a liking to the song "I Try" and we would have to play it over and over really loudly until he went to sleep in his swing. It was an impossible time!!! Good luck. I feel for you and understand what you are going through. I sure hope you can figure it out... Make sure it isn't gas pain... They have drops for that that we lived by. Both babies used them and they were lifesavers for us.
As long as she isn't sick or anything, I would just say listen to it for as long as you can. If it starts to make you want to scream, just put her in the crib for a few minutes or in her carseat or wherever she will be safe & then go into another room! There's nothing wrong with that! I had to do that quite a few times between the three of mine! Good luck, it will get better! I just used to try & remember that they are new to the world, she's only been with us for 7 months, that's no time! She's getting used to everything & can't fully communicate what's going on in her mind. We can't tell what her problem is. She might just be sleepy or have a headache or frusturated cause she can't do everything that she sees everyone else doing! Good Luck!!!
She is starting to do better. We had an awesome day yesterday. She took two naps. One only lasted about an hour and that was perfect.
I'm glad things are getting "quieter" LOL. Some days are better than others!!! Some days I put ear plugs in, those kind of days that you just had. There is always someone else in the house so it works well for me. Ds's crying doesn't bother the others like myself, primary caregiver. They are so young but still we have to give ourselves a "break" once in awhile.
How have the last couple of days gone, Rayanne? I hope that everything is settling down for you and Rylee. Let us know if the nap shifting continues to help.
Rylee did really well on Friday and Saturday. Yesterday was not a good day. She was fine until about 2:00 and she just cried until 4:30 and went to sleep at 5:00. Luckily my DH was home so he could see what she had been doing. I was mad at him though because he didn't help me out that much. We had one of our friends over and he sat with them. He made me happy later by asking to go for a walk which calmed me down. Hopefully today will be a good day.
