My baby is at SCHOOL!!
Today was DD's first day of Summer Preschool. We packed up her lunch box and her backpack and we were on our way. She picked out her new favorite pair of shoes to wear. She told Daddy "Hey, you forgot to iron my clothes!" (If anyone knows me, this is MY child! I iron everything! LOL!) There were no tears when we dropped her off. She got very quiet and she held her special cow for the car ride there and then cow came home with Mom. It was a very sweet moment. I couldn't believe how nervous I felt. I had butterflies in my stomach and felt like I would cry. LOL! So silly. Trina, Syd was so excited to be going to "B's school!" I have to pick her up in a bit, and then I'll post some photos.
Eve, It is going to be so good for her to meet friends and be able to play! You will feel refreshed and really appreciate the time you get alone, also. So glad she was excited and didn't cry.
I just e-mailed to ask how she did! She will LOVE it at SS. Both my kids thrived there. I agree with Truestori. It's bittersweet at first but then you will *really* appreciate the free time to YOURSELF. {{{HUGS}}}
That is wonderful that she is starting preschool! She will love it - getting to play with lots of other children, learning, becomming "independent" (scary thought, LOL). I know it is hard - it was for me - but then you start finding that you have a little more free time and it's not so bad. I can't wait to see pictures of Syd's first day!
Eve, I felt the same way last week when Seth started kindergarten. It was more traumatic for me than him. Like everyone else said, you will love the free time. I'm sure she will love it! I can't wait to see the photos.
This is a hard step but one I think well worth taking. She will blossom with her own new experiences and building new friendships.
I think she is getting more excited after the fact. Last night she was talking about school. She told us about Courduroy losing his button and the picture of him she colored. Then, she has been talking about "Mattie." We aren't sure if there is a Mattie or if Mattie is a girl or a boy. So, that's been sort of fun to hear.
Aww how sweet. I'm glad she had a nice first day at school!
