Little girl problem
My DD is fully potty trained now (she's 3), and everything is good with that except one thing: She is always pulling "wedgies" out of herself. It's not always the rear end side either! I have bought her a larger size panties and I have tried the different kinds that are out there. I'm about to buy her some boys underwear. Why is it that none of the little girls panties cover all of the private parts? They cover the bottom ok, but they are small in that other area! I have tried to explain to her that she shouldn't be doing it in public, to me it would probably seem to others that she's just touching herself. (we haven't had a problem with that, but I did see the other post about it). She has to pull her underwear out every time she crouches down & then stands back up, or when she is sitting & then stands up. Any suggestions?? Or does anyone know where to buy a different kind of panty for her?
Well what kind are you using? What size is she? We use Hanes for girls and have not had a problem. Hanes briefs, not bikinis. Do you use nylon or cotton panties?
I have bought her hanes, some "character" fruit of the loom for girls & one other brand I can't think of the name (from Meijer). I believe that they are all cotton only. She has both bikini & briefs & I don't notice a difference with her problem no matter which ones she is wearing. Is it common for little girls to get any female infections or anything? She hasn't been complaining of anything, and she was just at the Dr. for her well checkup.?? She wears size 3T in clothes usually. I bough her size 3 panties & they fit her fine, but I went ahead & bought size 4 to see if it would be better for her, but it's not!
Yes little girls can get yeast infections as well as UTI's. If she is not wiping correctly, front to back, she could have developed a little UTI. Do you dress her, or is she trying to dress herself? She may be putting her undies on backwards. Does she do it more after she uses the bathroom? May be she is pulling them up to high. Could she have a little toilet paper stuck up there?
Well, I took a look to see if anything was irritated & didn't see any TP or anything unusual. I wipe her after she goes #2, but she pretty much wipes herself otherwise. I have taught her front to back, but it's possible that she isn't doing it. She tries to dress herself, but I do help her to make sure everything's right side out, etc... I don't know, maybe I will try & get her to the dr. & make sure! Better safe than sorry!
Oh, now I am worried. I have put a call in to the Dr. & the nurse will call me & see if she needs to come in or not.
Both of my girls 4 &3 have the same problem. It is only with some of the underwear that I bought. My 4 year old kept telling me she was wet in her panties last year all day long. She would change her underwear about 8 times a day because she kept telling me that she was wet but she wasn't. She didn't have a UTI or anything like that either. The doctor said that she might just feel the cold air and think she is wet. I think part of it was because her underwear didn't fit that good. I bought some underwear from Target and also from The Children's Place and I like them. Make sure that you don't buy underwear that has any kind of a lacy trim because it tends to rub them and feel uncomfortable.
Did you take her in?
The nurse asked me about different symptoms & she thinks she's ok.
