Brendan and I spent a good part of the morning at his new daycare. He's starting 2 weeks from yesterday, I start externship in July. He had a really good time getting to know the teachers and kids and is really excited now. When we got there they were leaving for a walk so we went with them, they walked down the sidewalk and accross the driveway/street to a fountain that Brendan and I go visit sometimes, he was so excited. The kids all had races and ran around dozens of times the fountain. They have a really good summer program with a different theme each week and we are going to go visit again on Tuesday morning to make paperbag costumes and see how the classroom portion works. My baby is growing up on me...
My son (2) LOVES daycare. He loves to be with his friends. If it's a good daycare, it can be a great experience IMHO.
I would love to be able to have my ds go to a daycare or preschool, but the are so few here that they fill up to quickly. I have been on a waiting list for almost a year now!
My son loves being in school. I think he would be bored out of his mind to be home all the time with out a group of other kids to play with. In the majority of cases, I think going to school or daycare is a lot more traumatic for Mom. None of my kids give even a look backwards when I drop them off. I'm glad that you have found such a great group.
My baby starts preschool in September, just before his baby sister arrives. I hope this will be good for him. He likes the mommy and me classes we attend and is good with structure. I'm hoping that he'll enjoy preschool and this will give me a few hours alone with the new baby. Ame
