How is your DD doing???

By Ladypeacek on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 - 05:27 am:

She is doing better, she has pain every now and then but overall she is getting up more and eating a little now. She could probably go to school and just stay out of recess and PE but i am not comfortable with that yet, mothers over protectiveness kicks in! I will probably go ahead and keep her the whole week. Thanks so much for asking!!!!

That's not being over protective. It hasn't been a week yet, right? She needs to heal a bit more.

Kenna, when I had mine out I was in the hospital for 8 days (mine ruptured), I missed a full two weeks of school and then went for two weeks until they took attendance. My class right before lunch was geometry, I missed a total of 42 days that year..LOL. I still made an A :)

Well with the wonderful nurse your dd's school has, I would be keeping her home longer too.

I don't think you are being overprotective, either. She may think she's ready for more than she really is. I am glad to hear that she is doing so well, though. If something like this had to happen, at least she is recovering so quickly.

I also think you are being properly cautious, not overprotective. There are a lot of muscles involved in healing, better safe than sorry!! I'm glad she's feeling better!!!
