Well it happened!
My dd had her appendix out yesterday evening. She started hurting in school and the nurse first sent her back to class saying it was just gas, ARGGHHH i TOLD them to call me ASAP if she started to complain about stomach pains. When i got to the school the nurse said you can take her to the ER if you want but i really think its just gas, well when we got to the ER her temp was 103.5 and she was in so much pain! Well the nurse was wrong and they said any longer and it would have ruptured! Man i was irate! She made it thourgh the surgery great and might get to come home today. Just came home for a shower and to get dd's homework to trade it for next weeks since she will be out all week. Just wanted to keep you guys posted, Thanks for the support!
So sorry it was appendicitis, and so glad it got caught before it ruptured. Do give her my good wishes. Sure hope you let the principal and the nurse know just what you think!
Definately call the principal and give the nurse hell, especially if you called earlier. I am so glad you made it in time and that she is ok.
Wow! Hope your DD is feeling better now. That's nothing to mess around with. I think I'd be scheduling an appointment with the principal AND the nurse to discuss this.
Speedy recovery wishes! Thank goodness everything is o.k. BTW, I would have been irate too!
Hope she gets better soon. AND most definitely call the principal and nurse!!!
She was sent back to class after you told them the situation????? I agree with the others...definitely follow up on that one with the principal! Terrible!! I am glad your little girl is okay. I hope she feels better very soon.
I am glad they finally got them out! I would also talk to the principal.
I am glad she is okay. I agree with everyone else, definitely have a talk with the principal, especially after you explained the situation to the nurse. Hope she has a speedy recovery and is home soon.
Wow! I would have been very angry! I'm glad everything is going well with your daughter. Please let her know that everyone from MV is thinking of her and wishing her a speedy recovery.
Well she is home today, thanks goodness, the dr said she is recovering very well! She is out of school for a week but atleast she is home! She is staying in my room watching tv to steer clear of my ds, lol! Thanks everyone!! Oh and i did go to the school and had a chat with everyone about this!
All good news. Well wishes for her. How much more school does she have? We just ended last Tues. Will she be missing final exams or anything?
I'm glad she is feeling better, and hope she can come home ASAP!!! Let her know we are thinking about her!!
Wow! How scary! So glad she is well now and it's all over with. What did the school say when you had a little 'chat' with them??? Sheesh! You have to feel safe sending your child to that school, and one would THINK a school nurse, who is already AWARE of the situation, would have handled that one WAY better. Did you talk with both principal and nurse? What did the nurse say? Here's wishing a speedy recovery to Ashley!
What did they say??!!! She is already out of the hospital?? WOW
They said they apologized, it had been a few days and she forgot about the letter. Whatever! She was walking around well enough for the dr to let her come home which is good, she said that school nurses should not be trying to diagnose things anyways letter or not. She intended on calling the school herself. She has to go back in a week for a check up with the surgeon, her stitches are the dissolving ones which is good so she isn't worrying about having them taken out.
So sorry about the school. I'm glad it was caught in time and that she is recovering so well. I'm glad the Dr. was so supportive of you. Good luck with the rest of the recovery and give your daughter big hugs from all of us!
I am glad everything went well. Man they got her home but quick didn't they.... And I can feel for you as far as the nurse goes. I have had more than my fare share of the nurse trying to diagnose illnesses. I could go on and on....
That is wonderful that she is home and doing fine!
I'm glad everything went okay and that she is back home with you!
