Out of the mouths.....
of babes.....What is the funniest thing you can remember one of your children saying??? My now 9 year old ds said when he was about 3......I thought he said "Oh Jesus" when he was playing with his toys, so I said "What did you just say?" and he said "Oh, I was wondering if I could have some "cheez its"......
well when my dd was about 4 we went to water country, we were standing in line for one of the slides and there was a woman in front of us that was slightly overweight, actually only about the size i am now, but my daughter seemed to think it was more. She said to the woman " may we please go in front of you" I said why on earth would you want to cut, thats not nice, and she looks at me whines "but mommy what if she breaks the slide" I swear i though i was gonna die. How awful is that???????????????? We had a very long talk after that about things NOT to say! She also told my mother who has not been married since i was 2 that she really needs to find a man! She was about the same age i think. My mother asked her why and she told her that parents are supposed to have babies and she needs a man to do that! She told her that i needed and sister or brother, LOL!!!
Well, the first thing coming to mind. DD was around 3 yrs old. I was trying to get some work done that needed my concentration. So I very calmly looked her squarely in the eye, held her chin to keep the focus and told her "Honey, Mommy REALLY needs some quiet time right now" expecting her to say okay (which she has been known to do). But instead, she took my face in both her hands, looked me squarely in my eyes and said "But, Mommy, I REALLY NEED SOME TALKING TIME!" So we played. Along the lines of Ladypeacek, DD announced to me that we needed to "find Aunt JoJo a husband....but finding a really good one is really hard work. There aren't many out there." And most recently: I like watching Dr Phil. DD does not. She will be 6 next month. Back ground info for story-- On trip to Sam's Club, I was looking for his book about how to eat the right stuff. Also, and unrelated, I suffer with severe PMS that is bad enough to affect our family. We refer to it as "mama's cranky time." Well, on a trip to the book store to use her gift certificate, she announces as clear as a bell for the entire store "Mommy, look here's a shelf full of Dr Phil! Maybe you can find something to help you stop being so cranky!" Kids....gotta love um!
ROFL, those are all so funny! I can't think of any right now. But my 2 year old just started saying, "Duh!" ???? I don't say that, I don't know anyone who says that now. Where could he have gotten that from? LOL
I hate to admit it, but I got my first taste of the kids picking up some bad language. Maddie had started saying "God d*mm*t", which I guess means it's time for Mommy to clean up her potty mouth!! Other than that, she says "BABY!! SHHHH!!!" when Shane is crying.
I thought of another one to share, my dd was in her first week of kindergarden, she came home and insisted that she start riding the bus, she did not want to be seen with her mom dropping her off! i was devastated, lol. I asked her why and she told me its a revolution that i would not understand, lol. I am not sure I understood that but where on earth did she pick up that word!!!
*I* still say that.......
Right before Christmas, I took my ds to Target with me and he had a case of the "I wants". I responded with "maybe Santa will bring it" everytime he showed me a new toy. When we left I let him collect the change from the cashier and he gave me some of it. When I asked him for the rest, he said "Maybe Santa will bring it to you if you are good!" I just cracked up in the middle of the parking lot while he stared at me!
Our two year old has just begun talking. He's come out with some cute things. This morning my mom, who is visiting said, "Good morning, sunshine" to him as he came downstairs. He said, 'I'm not Sunshine (the name of our cat), I'm Randy" He had us both giggling.
