Pacifier Question
I want to start taking the pacifier away from my 11 month old. Any suggestions?
I only had one who would take a pacifer at all. When he was about 11 months I just didn't offer it anymore or leave one anywhere were he could find it on his own, if he asked or demanded I would still give it to him but as time went on he kind of forgot about it. He didn't take it at all by 13 months. That is what worked for me of course not all kids are the same. Good Luck! By the way, I had a friend who cut the nipples straight down the center, so that is was a floppy two pieces. Her daughter refused to take them like this and just stopped asking. But if yours decided to still put it in their mouth like this I would definetely not try it again because of the chocking hazard
We did the same thing.....just didn't offer or leave it around...but if ds wanted it-we always gave it to him. After a while(not too long) he stopped wanting it.....he was about 6 months old I think..... fiona
I took it away at 10 months except during the night. Then I weaned them during the next month of the night binky. Shane was a bit harder to wean than Madison. By 11 months I threw them all out one morning. The kids whined a bit that night, but it was short-lived.
Thanks for all your responses. I didn't take my son's away until he was 2 but want to do it earlier with my daughter. Today I already started just using them for naps which is working out if she wouldn't keep finding them around the house. hehe Coop, I cut just the very end off when i started taking my son's away. I don't think I will have to do that with my dd.
