Gluten free recipes (Breads muffins)

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2004: Gluten free recipes (Breads muffins)

My son had a blood test and they said he couldn't digest wheat gluten. If he continues to eat wheat he may or may not develop lymphoma the doctor said. (Since it is hereditary no wonder my husband is thriving on Atkings (no wheat diet)!

So I need a good gluten free recipes. I tried one last night. It came out good.(more honey next time.)

Need more. Thanks!

Last spring, my son became very ill and had to go wheat free. They thought he had celiac disease, but thankfully didn't, but it was an 8 week nightmare.
These sites were very helpful to me.

I went to the regular ped doctor and he said he thought the test the other doctor did was wrong alot. Usually they just do that test when kids have symptoms of wheat allergies like blood in the stools. Then he said they did a biopsy to confirm cediac disease because eliminating wheat is a hard ship for most people.

Ds has no symptoms of Celiac disease.

So I am relieved I don't have to have him on a restricted diet after all.

Glad to hear it. It wasn't all that hard to do the wheat free thing (basically meat, fruit, veggies) but my son is alot older ane he was motivated cause he wanted to get better.
